Re: GrimGriz's Taikodom Experience

Day 26:

Today the lag got to me a little bit, as well as a looting bug that creeped in and is now gone. So, I loaded up good ole Jumpgate Classic. The thing that struck me most as I flew from Light Crossroads to Wake was how far away everything was. My Taikodom experience has spoiled me.

There is the occasional log run from gate/station to gate (Netuno comes to mind), but for the most part it doesn't take much to get where you're going. They have about as many nodes as solrain faction space has sectors, and almost every one of them has a station in it. Even when you're passing through it's usually 15-20k or less to the next gate. I think the speeds are fairly similar too...at least numerically. At cruise speed of 500 in my fighter I seem to close 20k about as fast as my tensie would in Jumpgate Classic.

The short distances certainly cast my 5 minute jaunt from LX to Wake in new light.
