Due to some other things going a bit wrong on my PC I wiped my windows partion which means I have to reinstall the game but Soul Storm the new add on for DOW has just come out so the chance of me getting into this game has now gone down a bit.

Funny you should say that. THis x1950 is my replacement for the previous x1950 that died! I'm thinking I should just go for the HD3850, since it's a cooler card compared to the x1950...

It is not a 1950 problem it is a ATI problem. We gave up on them years ago at work. Nothing ticks the bosses off more than $5000+ (FireGL) cards just going up in smoke at random times. If you were lucky it did not take out the motherboard.

We have gone Nvidia ever since and never have been sorry we did.

Re: Incoming

Hmm. My old mobo did die with a 9800PRO... I've wanted to switch back to Nvidia for a while, but the x1950PRO seemed like the best choice for an aging AGP system. We'll see how the market changes in a year, when I upgrade to a totally new system.

Anyway, I'm on my second RMA (free! they told me to forget about the cost wow) and I bet my x1950 will die again. Just watch...
