The Life and Times of Istanbul (In Taikodom)

As many of you may recall, during the first couple of weeks, I had issues with severe lag/discoing/etc. So, during that point in time I only got the first couple missions in, and made a trip out to mercury (through about 4 discos en route, if not more). There BORGUE bought me a Longfin (which is a nice ride overall). Thanks BORGUE!

Finally, yesterday, I switched my other wireless card, which is more reliable (is the same type as the router/not super super cheap/etc.) over to my 'top' computer. Combining that with the patch has dramatically increased my enjoyment of the game. I can actually look around more, since everything isn't so jumpy that I'm getting scared, so the graphics are quite nice. (Some of the 'perspective' seems a bit funny, though).

Things I've liked so far:
The graphics.
Being able to squad up in more than just a /wing.
Having an in game friends list.
Roids exploding when you shoot them.
sector target list
able to toggle between flight control and menu interface, while still in space view.

Things i'm withholding Judgment on:
The actual flight/combat system. It's both easy and hard, and especially not being an avid mouser, (I haven't tried the JS, but I hear that implementation needs work). TS has said that they are still working in some more physics stuff (inertia), so that may have an effect on how I feel about their system. In the actual mouse flight control/aiming/HUD/all that, i'm guessin the flight controls in Jumpgate Evolution will be somewhat similar for 3rd person view.

Things I don't like:
I haven't been able to figure out what reason there is behind PvP yet (other than that you can). No actual factions/nations. Player run Corps I guess are their factions, but really, what reason do they have to fight each other? Of course, some people just don't need a reason for that.

Yeah, it does have a shooter feel to it with no nations or reasoning behind the stations and sectors and such. Maybe that's all future planed stuff. It's hard to tell with the current info in Portuguese only. But then, it's fun to discover it all as well.
