EVENING'S END STATION - Quantar launched a fairly brief and very destructive nuclear attack on the Griffin Naval Yard in Octavius Core station sector. The Quantar attacks were in retaliation for the Octavian destruction of the Squall yard in QC.

Initial attacks by Quantar on 106.11.18 damaged the Griffin Yard, but Octavian teams were able to quickly repair the facility. Last night's attacks, carried out by pilots Obi-Wan, Yajnho and Ambrosius in Monsoon bombers, provided too much firepower for the Octavian repair teams to deal with.

Although the attacks took place in mid-evening (Ekoos Time) when many military pilots are usually flying, the Oct defenses were minimal. One Octavian defender resorted to suicide, stripping off his shields, positioning himself near the Griffin yard, and allowing the nuclear splash damage to kill him. Another Oct, with civilian tags, would wait for the Quantar attacker to register a bounty and would then attack. It is rumored that these pilots were part of the mysterious and rarely-seen League of Amazing Military Eunuchs (LAME).

Other Octavians took a more standard approach to defense, donning military tags (kudos to Nikko) and flying repair ships. In the end, none of the tactics were effective and the Griffin Yard was destroyed. Quantar pilots then retired to the Pub at Evening's End for well-earned refreshment and entertainment before heading home.
