[Romulus]

Romulus strolls through the double doors to the Driver Lounge wondering why the corridors seem so quiet. He hangs his Leather MACK jacket on the coat hook near the table in the back corner. He notices the lounge is awful quiet. It seems the crew is not over the departure of four of our senior pilots leaving the team last week to jump into heavy fighters to defend Sol Space.

FLASHBACK.

Crew has just been informed that TeaJae has been pushed into an Ice Asteroid by some unknown force and Beersho was ambushed and has left the team since no one came to his aid.

Silencerr, Holder and Circusboy are talking very animatedly with Hurricane about the need to defend SOL Space.

CircusBoy…” I am telling you boss we have to get offensive in this or SOL space is going to be overrun by Octs and Quants and the EEA”

Hurricane…” I have heard what you have told me for the last 20 minutes but we have to think about our pilots who are responsible for stocking the stations of the needed supplies. If we go offensive then our Tows under Civilian tags are subject to attack. We currently can fly almost everywhere unmolested. Our reputation is at stake along with the tremendous profits we are currently making.”

Holder.. “Boss, our reputation and profits don’t mean anything if we don’t assist in the defense of SOL. The EEA is overrunning our sectors. SOL new recruits are being shot down left and right and we are seen just flying through ignoring everything. We have to step up to the plate and take this to them.”

Silencerr true to form is slowly turning red but not saying anything.

Hurricane… “ Guys have a seat and let talk about this with a little less volume. Our new members don’t need to see the Senior pilots stressing about the EEA. Let’s go up to mission planning and work this out.”

The four senior members leave the driver lounge.

The next day there is a notice on the bulletin board that Holder, Silencerr, Circusboy have left the squad to pursue other opportunities.







The drivers lounge was a like a morgue the next few weeks. Everyone was sitting around staring off into space wondering what happened in Hurricane’s quarters on that faithful night. Even the leader of the largest trucking company in the galaxy did not appear to be himself. In fact no one had seen him during normal duty hours.



Nostalgia did report to the other new pilots that he saw Hurricane suited up in combat flight suit two nights ago. He was not able to talk to Hurricane as he had just jumped on the lift to the docking bays



The thing that struck Nostalgia as odd was that on two separate night runs he saw a heavy fighter leaving the docking bays with no IFF turned on as it departed the station.



Javater and Romulus were sitting down to have some Royal Wake suds when Java noticed a new posting on the bulletin board.

TO: All MACK Pilots





It is requested that all MACK pilot tune his or her secondary COM unit to a special COM channel to be determined by senior leadership. This channel will be used to help a new Squad KSW locate and expel pilots who do not have Solrain interests in mind. The flight engineers have increased the range on the Secondary Com units to ensure that information is readily available for the KSW and senior MACK leadership.



No MACK pilot is to actively engage pilots known to be affiliated with EEA or do not have Solrain interests in mind unless actually fired upon. MACK pilots are requested to engage the secondary COM unit and report all information to KSW leadership who will take the required action.



MACK will be the eyes and ears for Solrain defense forces but will not engage. This will allow us to continue with resupply operations without losing pilots needlessly.



MACK pilots are further required to report all aggressive actions toward MACK convoys to senior leadership at the first moment possible.



In the near future, we will be having some new simulator training conducted by KSW pilots to all MACK Truckers. This training will used to assist those pilots with the dreaded escort duty to properly identify, report and actively defend the convoy
