Game play Questions

Its been awhile since I have played Jumpgate and am trying to get back into it. I cant renmember how to switch ships or if multiple ships can be purchased and stored for different missions. Sorry if I sound so stupid.

I am also debating on getting a new joystick set up. I presently use a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro. I am toying with getting a throttle stick and joystick combo. Ant sugestions on what to buy?

To switch ships... click on ship configurator in one of your faction's stations... there are arrows in the left panel of the screen that show you what ships are available in that station... just pick the one you want.

You can have more than one ship if you own a pos with a hanger...you can store erm... i think 4 ships in one hanger...you switch ships in your pos the same way you would in a TRI station... the hanger will have 4 n00b ships in it that you can take back to the main station and sell for a better ship to put in your pos...

As for joysticks... not really my department... i use a mouse.... i've heard many players recommend the Microsoft Force Feedback 2 , Saitek X45 and Saitek X52... but i honestly don't know

Hope the info helps...

I use the Saitek x45 and I really like it. It was well worth the $70. I hear some bad things about the x52, but have never used it myself.

thanks

Thanks for all your responses!

I will look at the sticks advertised here.

As far as the ships? well, my question was can I buy ships and store them at my factions hanger or do I have to buy each one and sell the old. I dont own a POS.

Best stick is the FF2. Have fun finding one on EBay. BTW, the X45 is the worst stick in existence. The only redeeming quality about it is that the throttle works great.

The X52 is great in Jumpgate, AH, and Word. I highly recommend it. Just understand that it's highly programmable, and may take a while to get used to. Also, it's rather large, so make sure you have enough space next to your computer.

For Jumpgate, I used throttle x45 and a mouse.

I wouldn't mess with anything of the Microsoft Sidewinder family as Microsoft is no longer offering support for these sticks. I'm using a Saitek Cyborg Force 3D, its pretty decent.

Elm:

The X45 is the best choice for carebears.
The FF2 is the best choice for PvPers.

No, you can't store ships at NPC (factional) stations. When you switch ships, you get the new ship, and the old one is tossed in the back of the hangar or something for the next person, after the equipment in it is unmounted.

Do I get the full amount I paid for it when I switch ships? Just curious.
