Joystick only?

Hi, I was wondering if this game can be played with joystick and joystick buttons only . . . or even primarily . . .

I purchased a Kilowatt Sport which is a fully body joystick, but iti s difficult to use the keyboard at the same time. Most joystick only games are for game consoles, but I have a PC. A few folks on this forum recommended Jumpgate, but I wanted to check . . . how disadvantaged would you be if it took you several steps to reach your keyboard?
