As the title says. Is there? I have exactly 0, nill, ziltzh money right now, and my credit card gets rejected.
I played Jumpgate a LONG time ago, like 5-6 years, and would really like to try it again before anthing happens with Evolution..

Soo is there a way to try it without giving ANY info besides name/callsign/email/etc??

Heh okay, i also thought it was the case, thx anyway.

It's actually funny, i find it much more fun now just in the offline mode, than i remember it being at all.
I will definatly play Jumpgate Evolution when it goes beta/retail because i really love twitch space games like this.
I've played Vendetta-online a few months, but there's just so little in terms of upgrading, and i really don't like the sector jump-system(you have to be 3k meters from anything and you always start in the middle of astrofields).. and even though i've been there from the start, it just takes too long with the improvements...

Vendetta was a horribly shallow game, and Jumpgate Classic is lightyears ahead of it.

Id strongly suggest getting to play the Jumpgate Classic now, as it will help you when you join Jumpgate Evolution later. Id suggest saving a lil bit of money and perhaps get a new bank account that has a debit visa or something like that (check visa I think is said).

How many people are actually playing the game right now? like in average and top times..

Btw. i'm getting this weird lag when changing resolutions, like when entering/leaving stations, and going to the options screen.
It's like 1-3 minutes, and it's like it hogs all system resurces because the music skips all over and if winamp's on it does too.
If just trying ctrl-alt-del and getting the task list, it also takes like a minute..


I think i'm think gonna try it out in a few days, so I really want it running properly...

RAM: 1GB 800Mhz
GFX: Gefore 7300 (Crappy i know) on a 22" LCD


Btw i just tried running it on my labtop and it runs fine

GFX: Intel 950 chipset thingy...

EDIT: Heh and btw. how can you see when you have mined something? I can't find any inventory/storage button. Or can't you mine in offline world??

Online numbers vary, but generally not high. When the chat channel really gets going its fun tho.

I had problems changing resolution too. Thought it may be because Im on widescreen and it was struggling to get the resolution. Could be wrong tho (read, probably am). Running at 1024*800 and it seems ok.

Mining in game type /cargo into the chat channels to find out what you've got. Should work in offline sim.

You should always try to run in native resolution with an LCD. Also, a 22" is a lot of monitor for a 7300. I noticed they don't have 1680*1050 so that's a pisser for me since that's native for my 22" LCD.

I've had problems with launching before, but I believe that is server related.
