X52 Configuring

HEre is my problem. When I go into Jumpgate and start configuring the buttons, they show up on the configuration screen, but they dont work.

Do I need to map these buttons to emulate Keystrokes in Saiteks screen?. I cant get the Throttle (Forward and backward) to work. Various other buttons dont work either, though it shows on Jumpgates controls as being mapped.

This is driving me nuts. Two hours so far.

Thx all

If I recall correctly, throttle worked directly through the Jumpgate config, but I had to set up the twist in my Saitek profile to get it to work correctly. I think there was something weird with Jumpgate where you had to select joystick mode and then exit the program and restart it in order for it to see the throttle correctly.

My recollection with the throttle is that you map to something else (like +/- on keyboard), save, and then re-map it back to the JS throttle. Other mapping problems on the JS may be solved the same way.

Thanks

Got my throttle to work by remapping another key for forward. There is one major Dont from the do's and donts.

Never, and I mean never , forget to pull the throttle back after you go thru a jumpgate.

My back still hurts from my pod trip.

;-)

The throttle can be configured to work without any key mapping. You need to go into the Saitek profile settings, and change the setting for the throttle from Axis to Bands.

BTW, you are using your profiles, right? Also, there are two threads that I remember from the JOSSH :help section that might have a few pointers. They are here and here.

No, I am not using a profile. I am configuring it by the controls in the game. I cant get half my buttons to work. I think Jumpgate limits the amount of buttons you can use. The other way I thought of doing it is setting up using keyboard only, then mapping my buttons in the profiler. Hell, I dont know...slap the s**t of me.
I love the stick, but its driving me crazy.

I will look at your pointers in a few. I wish there was a downloadable profile for Jumpgate, but I couldnt find any.

Remember this game?

I really miss Descent 2.

Our squad had like 30 members. UNLEASH THE CARNAGE! That game took some serious twitch factor skill. Loved my proximity mines. ;-)

Oh man, I can remember getting my boss hooked on that game. A bunch of us had to work one weekend, and in the middle of Saturday we broke out D2 for what was supposed to be an hour of LAN-based stress relief. We didn't stop until 8:00 PM, and that was just to order pizza. Good times....
