Sure, I can give you a list of the main factional / PvP squads. Active pilot numbers are roughly what they were before MG announced the shutdown and last month free for all the inactive players.

Main Oct squads - (the most well supported faction on EU):

OV (my squad) - 24 active pilots
Octa Armada - 25-30 active pilots
Octa Dragons - 4/5 still active

Main Sol squads - (for a long time we didnt have any active sol squads until SolrainKnights formed recently):

SolrainKnights - 15 active pilots
SDLC - 3/4 still active
Solrain Legion - 2 active

Main Quant Squads - (a lot gone inactive recently)

Quantars Hope - 7/8+ active
QSSP - 10+ active
Preservers - 7/8 active

Other Squads of note:

Hyp.Inq (Hyperial Factionalists) - 7/8 active

The Black hand (rebels) - 9/10 active
=SPACEMARINES= (mercenerary/rebel) - 15-20 active
Heqa Chasut (rebels) - 3/4 still flying

Black Hats (pirate) - 4 active

Die Hanse (not sure what their RP is) - 10+ active
CCCC (no RP / asshats) - 6/7 active

That just about covers it for the PvP side + theres various assorted trader / fluxing squads that make up quite a lot of the server numbers

I have one thing I am curious about though. The Hyperial factionalists... How do they accomplish that with an unplayable faction?

Same way as a rebel/pirate I'd presume. Flying a given ship doesn't necessarily indicate devotion to the given color.

I've long wanted to see a multi-factional pro-Hyp squad based out of POSes in Hyp space.

Theres unusual, Mongo being optimistic (least with the numbers at any rate)
What will become apparent is that squads like Spacemarines are mostly a trading squad that sometimes fly HG, DIE HANSE are basically 4 people in multiple guises, loaning out accounts to others, and CCCC arent the asshats Mongo makes them out to be :P (leave that back in EU plz BM, new start here etc)

From my experience, yes they are actually.

At last check Hyp.Inq has a HQ in Hyp space but nothing more, seing as the fighting takes place in DG most of the time, it must be annoying having to go all that way back, Hyp -> DG is a fair way.
But yea, they generally renounce their faction and join Hyp.Inq but are forced to fly their previous factions ships for obvious reasons.
