The company is also looking to expand upon its first MMOG, Jumpgate, which launched in 2001 and is still running. “We're taking things that we learned with Auto Assault and Jumpgate in order to breath new life into that project,” noted Brown. He was noticeably enthusiastic about the prospect of re-energizing the company's freshman effort, and commented that “major changes to graphics and AI are the main upgrades planned for Jumpgate.”

Finally, and more generally, Gamasutra asked the pair what separates NetDevil from the other competing firms in the online game space, to which Brown replied, “One of the things we've been doing as a company is building a massive code base, so that each game isn't starting from scratch. We have a lot of systems that work really well, and this makes it possible to build these games faster than other companies.”

I really don't care about the interviews, hints, promies or any other form of "vaporware". Until it shows up IN the game where I can play with it, I'd just as soon not hear about "how good it's going to be". Too much hype, broken time lines and unfulfilled promises was what made EP2 so disappointing. I'd just as soon not repeat that thank-you-very-much.

I realize everyone who "knows" something about what's coming is very excited and can hardly stand to keep it to themselves. That's wonderful... for them, but it just makes it hell for the rest of us who are not in the know and have to wait and see. I do wish the devs had been able to release short patches at reasonable intervals. I understand they were unable to do it that way, but I still think it's a shame.

I try not to read every hint that comes along simply because I remember all the disappointments of the past, but my love for the game impells me to read every little bit that comes out. I guess in the end I just wish "whatever" would hurry up!

At Netdevil's main website...the images on the edges now change with each refresh. Plenty of new Jumpgate images are there, including two from the actual Jumpgates themselves....which looks impressive...as well as some stations and a few ships. Definitely looks like a major change in the game is coming, 'major' in a way that we have never experienced in the game before.-

bar the one that we sort of know is Jumpgate, how many of the others are what we think/hope they are.

still looks nice but im with WB i wont count my chickens before the eggs hatch and all that. and im not sure if ill be back in Jumpgate much before they do.
