anyone play Jumpgate on a win2k comp?

I have yet to be able to get Jumpgate to work on any win2k machines. i would've thought that with a game that was out in like '01, it'd work on an os before xp? i've done all the updates i can figure out on 2k, don't really know what the issue is. basically, i double click on Jumpgate, and it immediately fizzles and does nothing.

Hmmm, unless there is something crazy, like you didn't install direct X, I dunno what to tell you. I've played it on several Win2k machines. Hell, I think i've played it on win ME machines...

I don't currently, but I used to play it on a 2K machine with no problems. Have you looked into the system logs to see what the OS is saying about Jumpgate?

(And like GG said, check DirectX; Jumpgate will just close down without any error message/window if you try to load it on a system that doesn't have at least DX8.)

i did dx9.something in the updates. how do i go about looking at system logs anywho? ^^

I play it on 98SE with only a few lock-down, blue screen problems. Usually about twice per session. Aggrivating, but I still get my hours in.

I've never played it on anything but 98se and 2k. I would try turning off AV, try running it in "offline mode" to avoid patchit.exe, try a video driver update, look at error.txt for clues which is in your Jumpgate folder.
