Anyone still play...
...my old favorite game?
I miss the days of huge -=MACK=- Convoys making our way through vast reaches of hostile space. Carrying heavy loads of needed goods. Wondering why Teajae was flying upside down. Heart pumping exceedingly faster as you realize that little bump leaving the gate had altered your course enough that you were now heading towards a petal. And the triumphant exhileration that overcomes you when you hear the scraping sound that comes with a near miss. Realizing you had manuevered the heave Tow back on course, just enough. Man I miss all that. Mostly the friends I made. ![]()

I saw the rant (from the JOSSH link). While I would not mind a reset at all, I believe there are few people who would calmly accept a reset for the "greater good" and there would be too much bad pub and PR for them to salvage anything.
On another note: Istvan sure did give quite a long interview on NDs future plans for Jumpgate. The snippets I heard were really interesting (could only half-listen as I was WoW-ing). |

Yeah, as tipical with me, I don't think I really conveyed properly what I meant in that rant. I know myself, thus the disclaimer at the begining.
![]() What I was really trying to allude to was that the game needs to be re-published. They need to fix all the bugs. Finished their desired changes, up the graphics and re-publish the game again. Of course, this will include a reset. I never thought anyone would read it or I might have been more careful with the words. I just wanted a place to point people that continuosly ask me "when are you coming back?" "Have you read this or that change?"Basically, I'm not going back with the game as it stands no matter what get's fixed. It's just a big mes and it's not going to suddenly be the hottest thing in gaming. It's allready marked and discarded in the visciuos cycle of the gaming world. I stand by that opinion even if it's unpopular. *shrugs* Doesn't mean I don't love the game. I'm just a realist and I have to stay true to myself. |

I gotta aggree with you there Jump. I played EVE for a little bit, it was fun for a short time but mostly cause of the Eye Candy. Jumpgate needs new content, upgraded graphics engine, and a new plot even or atleast a conslusion to teh current one... *Shrugs Shoulders*.. Just MHO

Seriously Though if they get the guys that worked on IFH BAB 5 to work on the graphics a bit i don't see a problem seeing as they said they did it in three months of hard work. And although the wouldn't get paid at least they get something.

No Jumpgate replacements, but a couple of non-mmorpg variants.
www.starshatter.com -> great fun space combat game, with very good modding potential (Jumpgate mod anyone? )www.eschaton-online.com -> Currently they're working on the non MMORPG RTS/Space sim crossover Chain of Command. After that they work on turning it into a MMORPG, I understand. Still a LONG way off though. I couldn't manage jump to lightspeed, because even if it is skill based, I would suspect that the effectiveness of your ship is still going to be massively based on how much time you spend levelling, and...SWG makes me cry. |
