Factional forums anyone?

I was thinking I could add some factional forums for you guys. I could add three new usergroups and set some leaders over them to approve and monitor access. Then only those loyal to a faction could access the factional forums. There is the second account thing though.

I think it's worth a trial run. I also think that we'd probably just discuss stuff like faction mission efforts and not really anything top top secret that could be ruined by second account spies.

I say go for it, and if they aren't active enough to be worth your while in a month or two, scrap em. The coolest thing would be being able for sols and quants and octs to set up polls to vote for stuff that the other factions couldn't vote on

Where you thinking of basing access on pilot name listed in the control panel, or have the group leaders add people that request in?

The non-factionalists (new dawn, flux clearance, and such) should probably get one too if you do set them up.

I'd like factional forums for FM and other coordination. Add non-factionalist forums just to be nice and equal (if there is interest). I wouldn't care if multi-factionalists were in the forum for FM stuff. But for polls, I wouldn't want non-factionalists messing up my pro-Solrain results.

And look at the "similar threads" down below.

Re: Monitored access -- to what end? There could never really be true confidentiality could there . . . with all of the alts? Or would you track IPs to know (to some degree) who was/was not an alt?

Well, by restricting/monitoring access, at least they'd have to log into their alts to see the other factions forum

Obviously nothing vitally secret could be discussed. We've mostly used our Pro-Sol forum for coordination of FMs, Search for Solrain, other econ projects and such.
