I'm messing around with the style for the Jumpgate forum. So if it looks ugly then you know why. Feel free to offer input or graphic ideas. I'll probably be messing with it over the next week or so.

Looking nice so far, IMO. I'll need fluid to fix the logo though. The only thing I might have to go to extremes is the posting editors. Seems all themes share the same css file for that. So I'll have to hack the templates to create separate ones. Vbulliten is powerful, but it still has some areas that are not completely webmaster friendly.

Generally speaking, dark text on a light background reduces eye strain and is easier to read. There's a nice study that proved that. But the younger the eyes, the more they're adaptable to high contrast situations. And, as that study also says in its results, reading speed is not affected by color preference one way or the other.
