A guide idea.

How about a "How to have fun in Jumpgate?" guide?

After reading upon this thread, yeah this is the EVE version of it. But I would wonder what a Jumpgate version of this would look like?

Would this worth be doing?

On a semi-relative note.... im in the process of writing a beginners guide to jumpgate in a very non-technical writing format..... more of the technical mechanics like how to i move though...

Regan, I mean no discouragement at all when I say that there are already several noob guides. Be sure to check them out before you spend a lot of time re-doing what's already been done (you may still want to do a better one, but may also want to borrow ideas from the established ones), especially the one by Muffy found here at UMEC.

Powo, fun is pretty subjective. I find mining to be un-fun, and arti hunting to be barely tolerable (and even then only occasionally). But don't let that discourage you. Be sure to include "joining a squad" in the how to have fun list. I'm fairly anti-social, and I nearly quit Jumpgate when I was a noob due to tough leveling and general dullness. It was my first MMOG and I didn't even realize what I was missing out on by going solo so long. Then I joined a squad and made some pseudo-internet-friends and Jumpgate became really a lot more interesting.

Well thats ok.

It doesn't hurt to create another guide by a current Jumpgate player.

While these were created by ex-jumpgate players years ago and havent got any attention.

and then you played other MMOs and found that Jumpgate has probably one of the easiest leveling systems ever... you get exp for just about everything you do!

a) I never played another MMO.
b) At the time, medals did not give exp and there were fewer medals, no pures, no arties, and missions paid a lot less. Plus, when you did level up into a LF, they were not nearly as good of ships as they are now.

Much has been done since release to help make it better on noobs, thankfully. We pride ourselves on Jumpgate being a skill based game, not stat based, so the leveling treadmill becoming ever less tedious over time are certainly steps in the right direction.
