Re: Hey OEC guys
Edited because most of this post is on topic.
and to get back on topic.. i remember our scout packs. those were some fun times. especially killing Natgun. hahaha oh man, the F4's i got from him were almost as timeless as civving Wizard401 that one time...good thing we only did it a few times. otherwise, i'd feel like such a pansy for flying around a ship that no one can kill easily. ahh memories.... |

Re: Hey OEC guys
i remember back in beta when ever i ran into a scout pack id target the closest one and DB them with a lance...BOOM no more scout. then id have to flee cuz my awesome ammo Tens would be next to useless against a pack of oct scouts. wussies.
and more often than not (after each DB kill) id get the TRI message.."Pilot Tokay killed by MIS-ku-GUN." and on a side note the greatest Oct squad ever was O.M.E.G.A. i just had way more dealings with them than anyone else, great bunch of pilots. |

Re: Hey OEC guys
I have several favorite Jumpgate/OEC moments that I cherish.
Of course, I will always mention the OEC trial first and foremost. You just simply cannot forget how the trial ended, with a sector erupting into solid weapons firing, and then watching in horror as the server woke up, said "WTF?!?!?!?!", then crashed. My second fun memory is flying alongside ikeprof, both of us in nixs, as the PoGBS were first introduced, and we headed there for battle. Got some great screens of the two of us enroute, then some good shots of us engaging the enemy. There were many other squads and factions hanging around the GBS area, but we all had the same target. And then I clicked on the map and saw a shield storm appear out of nowhere, then quickly engulfed all of neutral space, and subsequently, us. With the ships they were equipping, the insta-launches and the shield storms, we got tired of that schtick real quick, and headed home in our pods. Viper2c Lampshade Tazor and sometimes remembering brain-farts from hell |

Re: Hey OEC guys
Several best moments
One was to lead an event fleet into the new conflux space. Half of us had been shot down so we withdrawed. I managed to be the last one out, I felt proud and got an Octavian Honour medal which was very rare on the EU and just given away for exceptional participation in events. Another one was to lead the Quantar fleet on a weekend of war for 2 hours and to relieve the besieged Octavians in Outpost station. Third was some random guy in an intensity who ran for the next roid when he saw my über-tensy and suicided there, quote "Mich kriegste nich!" -> "Ye won't get me!" Fourth, and best one was in combat. Carnifex, N3mu and me were easily among the top of EU. Here in our good old heavy Nixes, heading torwards Quantar Core, when our radars lightened up with the green pvp factionalist squad (I think the one that came after QS), several Phoons and two Tornadoes, that meant dozens of missiles and endless flash fires. We cruised back torwards Oct space on ABs.. the phoons got closer and closer and after a few jumps I saw we were ready for them now, hence we would go for them in the middle of space. Their phoons were winded and scattered over an average of 2k to 3k, Carnifex' and my Nix got blown up, but we managed to kill 7 Typhoons by focusing fire and keeping momentum.. with 2flashies. We were padding our shoulders for months to come ![]() |

Re: Hey OEC guys
OEC was probably the most fun for us AQM guys to fight. They always put up the kind of numbers we had, and it always came down to pilot skill and tactics between us. I know at AQM we felt that OEC was our best bet to have a great night.
They also always kept the rivalry in game. OOC, Karash was a stand up guy and we even got on the same tspk one night just to say hi. Hell, AQM owes its existence in Eve to OEC, they helped us get started. Just like The Gang and AQM banded together in Neocheat (oh, I mean Neocron, whatever). |

Re: Hey OEC guys
I remember the first time I won a 4 v 1 against some of my favorite Octs in Gurge. I only saw two on radar, and as I vectored in to go for the fight, the third and then fourth appeared on the edge... FFing and maneuvering for my life, I somehow managed to live through the encounter with 23% armor and four fresh kills.
![]() Of course, they were n00bs at the time, and they could all kick my arse now that they've learned to fight, but that was one of my happiest moments in Jumpgate. Another great time was in the last hour of the second WOW Liet, GrimGriz and I had some hilarious duels with Liar's, only 2 FeFi's, Cobras, and any other guns that were sitting in LL. |

Re: Hey OEC guys
I remember flying my chirp around (Never wanted to give it up) And pre-patch I was able to take out a Quant bomber 1v1 AQM. (Ignore the other 50 deaths I had racked up till that point)
Man was that fun. Plus the Giants vs Jets football game Lynxis and I played in Sol and Quant space. Started a whole war over beacons between you guys for doing that if I recall. Much alcohol had been consumed during the planning of that mission. Also the accidental missile firings were always interesting. I believe karash finally made me relocate my missile button to the keyboard. |

Re: Hey OEC guys
Most of the OEC crew were in OMEGA when we disbanded, was that close to retail?
Man, I wonder where I put the disband ceremony pictures... I must still have them. I was one of the 'smartass' (as Ike used to say) doing rolls and what not while in formation. I had no mic back then, but Ike saying it was quite fun to me. Like that time we were flying close formation and I fired up my PWD and Karash was.. "woa, what the hell was that". @Sent: U mean "Natsack" right? |
