hmmm
I think, the last thing Jumpgate needs, in it's currant state, is this.

Heh, we should be so lucky. Wonder how they treat newbs. If i go back, i'll start a new account, not ressurect an old one. But that'll mean I can't outrun the Suckheads (pron: SUK-hed, term used to describe one who lives only through and by sucking the fun out of somebody else's day.)
I also wonder if there are even any anti-Suckheads around anymore. hmmm. |

I don't agree that this is the last thing Jumpgate needs. I think it COULD be pretty bad, but I'd like to see how they handle this first.
If they are smart, and focus their activities during prime time or the weekends, and keep their "grief force" small enough that resistance can be mounted against them, then this could be a good thing. As for you guys, JD and Tim are Sols, right? If so, Soli will be more than happy to escort you folks any time. Hell, it would up their chances of getting to fight someone. If you're not Sols.... then that might be a little more difficult. JITW and BH are the only Quants that can get more than 1 pilot on at a time (sometimes), and OEC is the only Oct squad that can do the same. In any case, you guys are all TRI-C, so it shouldn't affect you (except for Grim). GET BACK IN GAME!!!!! |

I have no problem with pirates or bad guys. I remember the days of JADE and such fondly. But when there are 350 pilots in space. The odds of you running into 5 bad guys running around is less. When there are 30 pilots in space you will run into them at every turn. They won't be looking for prey, they will be looking for you. Since no one else is even online. It changes the dynamic too much. But alas, I am TRI-C so I will sit back and watch. Let's see how this unfolds. My guess is, how it always has played out is how it will again. ![]() |

My guess is they'll get horribly bored due to lack of victims. Sad thing is, the part that pisses me off most is that they're calling themselves privateers/pirates, and doing the same old pay or die and buy passage to unreg crap. The pirate tags are in place so that you can steal without getting a perma bounty, everything else is just harassment/extortion.

![]() I know you guys are planning to return come January, and I'm looking forward to it. What I really hope is that there's something actually important for you guys to do (ie: make/haul equipment). If there is an actual need for haulers, then the PvP'ers will have a reason to protect you/attack you. GG: agree about the terminology, although I'm not quite as rabidly opposed to its misuse And I'm not fond of unreg fees either. Pretty unimaginative imo.I'm in one of my "Jumpgate optimism" modes, so you'll just have to excuse me rose-tinted vision for the time being. |

I sure hope draiocht, or whoever it really is, didn't expect a big warm group hug. ![]() Ah, bring back the real bad guys of old. The ones who didn't make big introduction posts on the forums trying to justify their RP. You found out when you jumped and saw yourself surrounded. The only message was the boom from your exploding ship. Or the sound of your flash fires and rapidly beating heart as you attempted to flee and call for help. There is just too much chitter chatter now. I need to get me some popcorn. |

It's kind of sad really. I accept that some people think it's lame that I hunt bounties civ. Unfortunately for them, I've always felt that is the primary idea behind bounties, that civilians can shoot you and you can't fight back unless you run to unreg first. That's where the punishment part comes in. Anyway, at least I know my efforts caused some tears.

Nothing wrong with roleplaying the vigilante. As long as you can accept the repercussions that may or may not come. That is what it's called, Vigilante, not "civ hunting bounties." You can't be expected to join the military everytime you need a little justice delivery.
