How is Jumpgate now?

I quit playing Jumpgate probably about 2 years ago. Life is crazy right now, but when it calms down in a couple of months, I am toying around with the idea of returning. I checked, and my username is still TRI Classified, so I might be able to re-activate my Oct account (I can't imagine playing as anything other then Oct).

When I quit, Player Owned Stations were right around the corner. How is the game now? Is it worth coming back too?

Online numbers are low, but the game is much MUCH improved. I only have a second, so I'll just tell you one component: light and medium fighters are now combat viable. And in many cases they are the ships of choice.

I watched ilk and Zaltys (both in Chirps) hold off an enemy fleet of 15 or Sols and Quants, all in fighters, bombers, and heavy fighters, oustide Outpost. That was truly amazing.

Also of note, the econ is fixed. Unfortunately, that disappointed a lot of people.

I still see tons of credits floating out there, so is this referring to supply and demand?

Most of the floating credits are from people who took advantage of the econ when it wasn't fixed. By fixed I mean that miners and haulers are needed now.

Gotcha. If I remember correctly, I have 500m on my account thanks to some last minute matter farms, so I remember those days all too well

Nothing like the 20b the current leader has though.

A lot has changed, thought they don't allow matt farming anymore, thank goodness. It's definately worth coming back to.

I definately won't miss matter farming at all. I viewed it as a necessary evil, but I'll gladly trade that in for some real trade
