Ambrosius's comment is EXACTLY why I think we should be able to "store" ore unrefined & unsold in our own Ore Silo equipped POSs. IMO the HM is the only decent mining ship. Having to use Tow or Tugs for larger amounts is not fun at all.

More for octs and sols WB. The quants with the mining bonus can still rip ore out at a good clip even in the frt. But, if i'm ever trying to mine a ton of ore in one trip or something, I do use the frt, as it's quicker than flying back and forth to the station 3 times to accomplish the same thing.

What's the value of storing ore? When I mine, I first sell off the unwanted "incidental" ores, then refine, then get rid of the unwanted stuff and store the key commods. Storing the raw ore is just a waste of space.

Re: I need to make some comods

Istanbul, you are right but that only illustrates another part of the problem. If you use the most efficient ship for the job (LM or HM) you spend too much time flying to and from the asteroids to a station to sell off ore, unwanted or not, because of limited hold capacity. If you use the tug or tow, for single dock mining, you lose the efficiency of the larger/more numerous mining lasers. Maybe what I'm wanting here is a "super miner" tug-like ship with four or five size 6 mining laser slots (and a double size two turret for flux or pirates) and 700 unit cargo hold. Now THAT would be a super miner! Yes, I Want one!

Back to storing ore in your Ore Silo. If you wish to make a single sale of one type of ore, being able to store ore in-between runs would be nice. Particularly if you wanted to do something besides mining before you'd got that enormous amount of ore accumulated. I've got my mining medals collected already, but I still work on skill stars. When you have to have over 400 units of ore for the next Miner's Heart, it can take a lot of time away from everything else to accumulate it. To some folks THAT is the whole point. To me, it's just another obstacle in my path.

Anyway...
