If Themis is really gone....

Then in theory...a group of concerned players could theoretically unite, name themselves something, and make an offer to ND to do what Themis did for the chicken-scraps Themis got paid to do it...right?

What all would that entail? Off the top of my head I'm thinking support e-mails, and whatever it was GMK did...what else?

He's indirectly commenting on Themis's lack of presence recently.

They're not gone, for better or worse.

(the rest of this post is hidden beneath "NDA" in huge fonts with plenty of curlicues to hide stuff)

I'm saying if even support e-mails are going unanswered, ND would be primed to consider offers from others to do what Themis is supposed-to-but-apparently-not doing. As to whether or not they are gone, they appear to be gone. It's probably just "mostly" gone, and not "technically" gone though.

I would say what is needed would be commitment, a love of the game and an understanding of ballanced interactions vs 'realism', good comunications skills with a VERY thick skin. The group would need a secure comms medium like a forum for posting and conveying events/story line planning and execution so that everyone was aware of the timeline of rp stages etc (this also allows for multi continental members). They would also need to listen to the players and understand what is being said to them, its not about pandering to every whim of the paying customer but stiking that ballance that allows everyone to feel empowered within the Jumpgate universe, ensuring their interest long term. They must also be able to follow what GMI has planned for the game and facilitate new additions to the game before they actualy arrive.

The situation we have now with the altered bombers and military service coded into the game before any RP story for the change is in place is wholey daft.

How can a role playing game be called such if its run OOC'ly? Things need to be set up before they happen not afterwards.

If the rp isnt ready then any patch should be delayed until the rp team IS ready. And the RP team had just bloody well better be ready in time.

ER 2nd all of what V31 said

And TBO i diddnt even know thermis was here there in the 1st place, and im not alone in this. just today one of my sqaud m8's who has been playing for a good while asked who i was talking about when i said Thermis.

ok i do know and have done for some time what good if any they do is still beyond me.

im sure they said we had a new GM taking over from GMK, ( for better or worse cant judge as he/she hasnt come out of the shadows yet, that i know off )

As for some one or body taking over what they seem to be doing or ment to be doing, emm some one that cares about Jumpgate and the people in it

Because, of course, the playerbase as a whole is more than happy to quietly accept further delays, in addition to the ones resulting from the currently limited resources available for further developing Jumpgate...

Yeah Vorlon, hehave.
The patch came along so quickly there wasn't time for any rp team to come up with anything

Never mind the DT's, the eu had RP ss, entirely because of the teams it had at its disposal. With just a single GM the wws can only be a gameing arena, we can do personal rp's even squad ones but everything else will fall on the mechanics. 1 person just cannot do enough to make space live alone and that is the stumbling block here for a living server the single in game GM set up. Were themis to back out of Jumpgate (which is what this thread is discussing) I beleive it is a team structure that needs to replace it. Cross continental and imaginative and 100% seperate from the private accounts.

Well, more people than GMK flew the sents, and he made references to having people on a team. Whether he had a team he kept seperate from teh playerbase, or if it was something more nefarious...it's hard to say.
