What's really sick is that the game itself is the best it's ever been. Granted, the econ still needs tweaking, but the pvp ships are pretty well balanced, the non-pvp ships are starting to head that way. Mining isn't a waste of time anymore, equipment tax is gone so you can stock factional stations without a loss, cargo smuggling is in the works and the flux are being made to suck less.

Despite all that now is the time the core group so to speak is bailing on Jumpgate. Yeah, Trog pissed in your cheerios, he did mine too. I wonder, out of all the people quitting and going to EU, how many took the time to shoot an e-mail to scorch and archon about what's going down. I figure scorch has his hands full with AA, and probably won't know anything until the next time numbers roll out. When they do, he'll probably just pull the plug on the US. Goodgame guys, you let Trogdor win.

The thing is, throughout all that I felt someone cared just enough for it to be worthwhile. Someone in the dev team or in themis has usually at some point appeared to give a damn, mostly in the last year with Ist and K around. The feeling of 'all pulling together' to keep the game going is gone for me now, and the improvements in the game are only a sideline next to that

Are you trying to say you don't think Istvan cares enough for it to be worthwhile. For as long as he's put 16 hour days in, I think that's just twisted. A lot of people got upset over the whole silent thing. When I read it, it struck me as a 'you know if I'm talking to you' kind of thing and I wasn't offended at all. It was a bad idea to not address it to the specific individuals there was an issue with, but I think the communities reaction to that post is the reason we are where we are now. Too many used it against the source, and it became a pissing contest between the community and the GMs. I think had people just taken the cue and cleaned up :chat, we wouldn't be where we are now.

At any rate, what's done is done, and I'm riding the beast out. Hopefully, some form of reason will find it's way into the GMs, and the policy currently in effect will be changed, or we'll get enough new blood in to keep things interesting. The latter is not likely, and I won't be surprised at all if the plug gets pulled. Time will tell.
