As much as I hate seing folks leave the game, take a break or simply not log in while still paying.... you are a bit annoying Lord. Still, I appreciate the fact that you show a possibility to return... so, laters
![]() IMO is not dead. Even though GMs play a big part on keeping the ball rolling, in the end, squad leaders have to find ways to keep their members coming for more. There are ways to keep it still interesting without having to resort to crazy player RP that always end up bad for you, but any of those ways have consequences, good or bad, interaction between everybody is the ending result, and even if you dont like it.. there is interaction. I would worry if I were to put some RP in motion and not see a good/bad response from the Jumpgate population, and even more from those directly affected by it. The fight the conflux RP... IMO... is vague and limited. It all looks as if what its important to you guys is to kill and kill conflux, just to be ahead of the competition, and if it wasnt enough, it has to be big flux or nothing. Return to the basis of protecting miners, heavy haulers and noobs from flux, and is another story. Boring? probably, but more enjoyable. But what do I know.... Safe travels to wherever you go. ELP |

Great topic!
As usual the octs errr AL is whining and playing the Gent is lame game.......how fun! I leave this at this and will not respond to any post that i feel are off topic from OV. ENOUGH SAID. The reason why Jumpgate has little numbers and are pontentially dwindling. First there were never 1000+ ever logged on at one time during retail to my knowledge, so will start with problem 1 why was no around anyway: Dancer, incredible steep learning curve, especially with a mouse and keyboard....i tested Jumpgate with mouse/keyboard bought a joystick 2 days later ![]() Marketing: did it ever happen??? Lets face it over 50% of gamers have never heard of it and probably 90%+ have never played it. Graphics, they stink even when it was new, its better now with new textures and such, but it still suck. Lets face it if Jumpgate is ever going to see more numbers it needs to be prettier. Its unfortunate but most gamers i know after taking one look at the graphix say they wont play it. They'd rather play something thats more like watching tv, with clicking. Now on to the reason of JGs downspiral. There was an oppurtunity on the wws/eu merge. But most EUers after seeing the economy left. Are there even any Eu hauler/econ squads left???? Only the hardcore pvpers stayed. I don't blame any of this on Gm_I i think he tried his best, lets face it Jumpgate was doomed from the start. And so was the WWS merge, nothing was taken account for like the increase in pos and equip, the Us players tried are best to keep stock before they came over but was to little effect. Furthermore the EUers were allready coming into an unstable economy from a very productive very differernt economy. Thiers always room for improvement, but the graphix need taken care of then some sort of marketing even its a few online ads at gaming sites like mmorpg. Matafarming, the life and death of Jumpgate, In my personal and honest opinion is what Jumpgate needs. Farming is a double egde sword though, for it to happen thier needs to be things like station upkeep and an arti market of some sort to take credits out of the economy. Farming does create pirates with endless cash flow, but thats good because you can't pirate without credits. Its one of the big problem new players have to spend over a year just to obtain a pos with a few modules, it ridiculous. It just takes to long to earn a bundle of credits ATM. The problem is credits hold way to much value ATM i've seen players quit over 500mil, There needs to be cargo runs where you can make 2-5mil per run, and endless amounts, this brings back haulers, keeps pvpers going. If you look most PvPers left either have old Farm money, or there Eu money. But farming has its bad side aswell, everyone has credits death mean nothing, but that what i think Jumpgate needs, deaths should be nothing more than a stat, even if your not insured. It made it fun when you farmed you had risks of pirates, getting blown up, blockades or whatever, but you new there would be a quite time or when your buddies where on when you could go run more cargo and get all your money back within a few hours. RP, no in game rp, no npc, and well lets face no gms or even the volunteer GMs in EU. With in game RP there needs to be a reward, that reward credits, artis, equip whatever is what makes people want to do the rp, rp is fun because the the prize at the end , and the competition for it. Lets face bragging rights in Jumpgate mean little to nothing, and with everyone being so stingy with there precious credits(myself included) theres not much player RP. Its hard to do some sort of ingame rp without some credits backing it, and usually for it to be fun there needs to be a substantial amount of credits. I would do fun RPs all day long if i had a billion credits, and once that ran out in 2-4 months i could make another farming. EP2 Patching, EP2 had its issue. Patches just dont come around enough, and when they do the new material is sparce, and usually bores me within less then a few hours, if not even minutes. If you look at online games that are in the 1000+ playing at all time they all have 1 thing incomon frequent patching with new content added regularly, but they dont mess with the game design itself, they may add expansions with new things but the dont ever change the tride true and tested design. They also have a paid staff of GMs running events constently. I dont blame GM_I for any of this, hes working his hardest within his limitation to try and keep the game surving, but from my understanding to fix the major problem with Jumpgate, the graphix engine would basically need to be rewritten for any major improvements. GM_I warned us that he would be breaking stuff unfortunately its taking to long for 1 gm to superglue it back together. But im still being optimistic for the next patch to right things, but after the wait for the last one, and with GM_I taking on more with server issues and equipment i dunno if i can hold out with things the way they are. Usually trying to perform open heart surgry on a man that is allready dieing by yourself usually ends in disaster. |

Don't like it don't read it. As i cant see the endless hours i spent on help. Running FM's running around after noobs and vets alike doing the odd job here and there, not to mention the amount of cash i have spent on noobs, then there is the hours i spent on the new flux space map the flux space mining survey. Up dating the flux spawn lists the hours i spent running in some of the ND rp's or any other of my in game actions but if you find any of the above to your annoyance then is it any wonder Jumpgate is dying if this is its mind set. But hey its a game just one I'm not enjoying hence ill spend that 20 quid on something i do/will enjoy. I'm not going for ever just need a break from all the crap. And yes I'm sure i start some of the crap i end up in but over all I'm tired of fighting the brick wall some players are sitting behind, whilst the rest if us strive for change a small few play Jumpgate like its their own personal server, i mean i have seen more players on a Freelancer server which is sitting in some kids bedroom. than i do in Jumpgate, but this wasn't meant to be a whine which some see any one's point of view that dares say anything different from their doctrine as one. I'm out for now ill be back after all Jumpgate is still the best game i have ever played even with all its faults |
