Jumpgate on Steam
In completing my assessment of The Orange Box, I've been playing some Team Fortress 2 on steam. As the bastard thing shows me ads every time I run the program, and my eyes read stuff whether I want them to or not, I discovered Penny Arcade is now on Steam.
Later, i.e. moments ago, I was thinking about how I still want to write some reviews for games and post them here in the general game discussion area (or get jump to give me a column). Then I remembered the Penny Arcade I saw where the blonde one said he was going to stop writing to show solidarity with the writers being on strike or something.
Then I thought - "Hey, they put Penny Arcade on Steam, they should put Jumpgate Classic there." As it's an awesome idea, it's probably been mentioned before or hinted at elsewhere. If so, it bears repeating. When Jumpgate Evolution comes out, they should put Jumpgate Classic on steam, perhaps under a buy once play forever model. Particularly with the support/development (or lack there of) it's getting now, Jumpgate Classic doesn't seem to me like it's worth the monthly fee....and (I sense a poll in the making) I would wager a lot of the counterstrike/halflife people would like the skill-based combat of Jumpgate Classic. I say this because I also play counterstrike from time to time, and I like it.
I think this would be a really good way to make a couple more dollars off of Jumpgate (or not) and get FPS players hooked enough to try out Jumpgate Evolution.
