Looking for production tool?

I am looking for something that will help me figure out what I need to produce certain items. For example I want to build some Hitmen or whatever. What do I need and where do I go?

Check out jump's tool shed, bud.. you'll find it in the JumpGate forums. good stuff in there, including the exact tool you just described.

Just be warned that they are all pretty old. And on top of that most of the interfaces were just me experimenting with different technology. Some work well and some are crap. If I make tools for the new game they will all be integrated with vBulletin and be AJAX based.

Looking through the tools I can see lot's of problems. Now that I have a good video card I can see some really bad graphic issues that I could not see before. *sigh

And I see the pos lister doesn't work in FF 2.0. *sigh

I have whats needed to organise a production run. I was just hoping there was an all in 1 tool where all I had to do was say I want to make 50 duelist. The program would tell me to go here pick up this go here drop it off, go here do this that and the other thing.

This stuff gets complicated.

ohh.. i see.. yeah, sorry.. that all-in-one tool is your brain.. there are usually multiple producing stations and multiple product sources and then there are political considerations and level/PR restrictions (sometimes). So.. all that wrapped together gives you a production schedule.

If duelists is your goal, i seem to recall that there is a producer in sol space now too, isn't there?

There once was a site that was exactly what you wanted back in EU days, but sadly he stopped playing Jumpgate and closed it down.

I think it was coded by one of the old SDLC guys. It was the most useful production tool I have ever seen.

Tools are nice but part of playing the economic part of Jumpgate is mastering the art of production. This ain't no point and click game.

aw com'on Uncle Jump! Some of us chillren be lazy and just wanna go out an make it, not do all the skull sweat to figure it out fo' ourselfs...

Seriously, even with someone laying it all out for you (as in produce 50 duelists, go A for I, B for II, etc) it's STILL a lot of work with so much needing to be mined to get the tier 1 commods. Such a tool would make it go much faster.
