I'm not saying sit there and die, just retreat to unreg. Mil could also take the kill shot on the offending civ, as we aren't immediately bountied.
You seem to say this as if it is not an inevitability. I see you are starting to think for yourself with regards to bounties, grats.
Based on theory, based on several of the sol Balrog that tried it and ended up bountied to the hilt and running out of money fast. Did their whole squad do it? No. Why screw all their pols?

I can just imagine their TS while heavily under fire:

"Here kommen zee civ's, retreaten to dereg, flee like zee qunts"
"Ve must thanken zee GG for his superior tactiks"

Flying to unreg or just fighting us there beats the hell out of not playing, at least in my book.

Good GRIEF!

After this many years why is it that PvPers and non-PvPers haven't found a way to co-exist? What on earth is so bloody "rewarding" about downing non-combat craft? If you "civ" rip me while I'm in a fighter or a ranger so be it, but I fail to see what is gained by ANYBODY by downing non-combat craft?

In defense of balrog and the like... I do not appreciate AT ALL the fact that the game mechanics no longer support MULTI-FACTIONAL combat squads. I am not offended by the existence of "military tags" at all, I just think that the game should be open to non-faction/multi-factional PvP as well.

Space not dangerous enough? Do people actually ENJOY their pod-rides? Do they ENJOY re-equipping? What happens when the economy players don't stock a station and you have to re-equip with "substandard gear"? Is THAT fun for anyone? I just don't understand you people.

I LIKE the idea of PvP. I'm even o.k. with the ABILITY to engage in "non-consensual" PvP. What I have a problem with is when it takes place for no reason other than to give one person a sick twisted sense of pleasure at the expense of another player's grief.

One of the things that bothers me the most is that nearly all of the pilots that preyed primarily on non-combat players would run and log off as soon as any kind of retaliatory operation was mounted. How is it in any way realistic OR fun that a jerk can go kill people and then be completely immune to reprisal?

There's an old saying, "You can't please everyone." So it's safe to say that we can't make this game "fun" for everyone. But let's hope the "power's that be" are at least trying to make it fun for the majority.

People that whine on the forums about how the forums are terrible because they are full of whining are one day going to grief me out of Jumpgate.

I returned to Jumpgate with high hopes.. 2 high.. Not that there is something wrong with the game except for being outdated.. but how the game is played...

I still miss how we did it on EU.. US is to carebear place for me.. and I just cant stand more omg.. A pirate killed me.. i quit.. US server is boring.. there is no good RP.. there is no danger.. there is no excitement.. everyone wants to be friends and kill flux...

I wish I was killed or robbed while spending my short time there.. but nothing.. no one wanted to shoot me down and get me to buy a nix so i could take some revenge.. this was what made me interested in jumpgate on EU when I first started.. Flying a regular mission in my level6 ship to KH then suddenly 3 badguys chasing to kill you.. and me firing my cheap missile expecting to kill them somehow.. lol.

but anyways.. kill the noobs.

Try again after the update is release and there is (hopefully) a player boost.

In the past, EU was far more the carebear server than US was. Civ rip in reg space here were not officially frowned upon "back in the day."

But you're right -- now things have changed in a big way.

So when is the update due? Yea, I know: Soon... but does anyone have any actual knowledge of whether the patch is being tested, or feature-complete... or even started?

Back in the day would be well over 3 years ago. Just putting things in perspective.
