So does anyone have any actual data? Which commods come from which storms and at what collection rate vs cruise speed? Do multiple scoops collect faster?
The scoop while arty hunting idea is interesting, but storms pass on too quickly. |

Considering that there's nothing to denote if helium (for example) came from radio ore or was scooped from a storm, I don't see any other way of handling it than counting it for the contest.
As for the arty hunting thing, not only do storms move on, but those who use rangers to hunt don't have that much room to start, either cargo or MODx slots. Artying tows or HMs, on the other hand... ![]() |

a) You cannot stack
b) I started compiling some data but don't have it handy and I've only done the Armor storm so far. During testing I was getting 1u/min in the stock Quant HM with incrementally better results when I was using AB -- but not phenomenally better. I'll have to re-test now that this is live. c) Actually the running blind thing depends on sector. I've found it rather easy to use my radar to find a "clear path." One of the things that keeps this from being too much of a "win" button is that storms don't usually last a real long time in one sector, so you can't simply "scoop until you drop." I'm approaching this new feature a a great way to easily "scoop" up a few rare commods when a storm comes wandering close enough to make it worthwhile. It appears that you need 15-20 total units to be sure that you get at least a full unit of all commods scooped. |
