From what I can tell in offline sim, it only changes color of the roids. I'm not sure about it but roids will show redish when they have low yield.

It's in the sim elp. From early testing the modx makes common brown, but the rest are gray. Unless Radi is right and the ones that were brown were the small ones... more testing in the future I guess. Right now I'm testing a theory on that subsystem thing.

This quote, along with the rumor that ore is *appearing* in ore depots without anyone dropping it off seems to indicate that we've gone back to mining being worthless and hauling being everything again Why the hell add a mining modx and do that at the same time?

Drastic times require drastic measures?

And RP side of it.

"Ore depots are now equipped with mining droids to help out with the economy"

From what I know, ore depots arent moving cargo.. we're still getting the usual announcements of 28 ore at RV depot.. bla bla bla. What we need to test is IF the destination mission that you would get is always Faction's depot or perhaps the other 3.

Hummmmm... unless...... the messages taht we are receiving from the ore depots arent made because players have dropped ore. I dunno, my theory is this... we are receiving some nice 100+ of ore at main gate and other places... perhaps nobdy has mined them or at least not all?

There isn't a hundred precious ore anywhere near TP ore depot, so yeah we are getting it.

Yeah, it struck me as odd that someone dropped 128 precious at the oct depot. Then when someone on :chat said it was magically appearing it just made sense. That'll be it for mining as far as I am concerned.

@Radi I'd rather see AI ships actually mining than this. At least I could pay people to blow those ships up (so people would buy commods from me).

I know. But consider current economy. When the Isty changed the economy, IT failed. Probly mostly due to low number of pilots willing to spend hours mining to keep production going.

He [Isty] have chosen to balance economy. He's the dev. He's trying to please most of the population (haulers that will have something to haul and pvpers that will have equipment for fighting)

Istvan wrote, that he is very reluctant to go back to economy problem. Mainly due to the complexity of it. Furthermore, he stated that his idea of factional warfare should include resources (read: roids).

I can imagine your dislike for his decisions, but I fully understand the reason behind it.

And who knows. Maybe those AI ships are in the making.

Keep in mind: this is not only YOUR game.

It doesn't bother me, I enjoy pvp and other stuff just fine. It's a shame he wasted all that time on making all those changes to the econ, asteroids ratios, prices, etc. just to undo them.

Some people find mining boring. I personally find flying really slowly from gate to gate (hauling) boring. It bothers me some that people who enjoy mining are made useless while people who enjoy hauling get more to do. I also enjoy flipping beacons and pvp, so it just means I won't bother to mine anymore.

I know it's not only my game, but then again, at least i'm not TRI Classified so I guess it's a little more mine than yours eh?
