New Sol/Oct FMs

Sol -- The STCC has agreed that another high-tech manufacturing facility should be commissioned near Cornea Station. An older facility will be refurbished to improve Solrain's technological edge. Ores refined at Cornea will be used for construction.

Oct -- The inability to readily manufacture munitions endangers Octavius. Clements IV has ordered construction to commence on a new facility near Oct Core. You are required to deliver ores that can be refined into needed materials.

I'd like to see the FM's better described. Exactly what is the FM designed to do, plain English. Is it going to be a CP, an NA, SF ? What is it for? Along with a better, more complete description of the objective of the FM, I'd like something right there to tell folks how much each unit delivered helps the FM. I'd also like to see an elimination of the 50u limit as well. So what if 30 people can complete the FM in an hour using freighters? It gets done and that's what's important.

Historically, Octs HATE to do FM's and frequenlty take 2-3 times to do less work than their Sol or Quant brethern. Let's make it easier for them to complete their FMs. Let the WHOLE tug load of commodities count toward the FM!

Okay Noh, I get your point. Not sure I agree with it however. Can't remember running any FM's as a noob, but that was a long time ago too. FMs currently are a lot like urinating on a campfire to put it out. You have to drink a LOT of beer to put out a very small fire. Waste of time and effort in my opinion.

Okay, msg sent to NetDevil pilot support or whatever it was in Ist's post. I have no idea what is happening or why. I will let you know what I find out. This is seriously putting a kink into getting my Dark Gem set! I mean I'm a three year vet and only changing my credit cards or their own incompetence has ever kept me out of the game ala TRI-C. I do NOT like being treated like this.

edit: Aug 6, 02:30 CDT. Got an e-mail from Ed. He says I've been canceled since Oct 2004!

edit: Aug 6, 02:56 CDT. thanks to a post from Firestorm on JOSSH, I was able to go into Edit Account, change my credit card info and I'm back in the saddle.
