Play Jumpgate Classic
Has anyone really stopped to think about this for a minute? Or are all of you too wrapped up in your debate or trying to impress each other with 5 dollar words? Have any of you thought that maybe, just maybe, this type of system is what they(netdevil) wanted for this game? Now, we all understand that the current system is unfinished, so I think it is quite unfair to make comments and assumptions about what it is now. But I do concede that the "now" is all we have to deal with. I am sure that the changes they have made were not made lightly, or after a night of drunken madness. In my opinion (and of course, my opinion only) this is what it's going to be, and we all need to learn how to live with it. Most of us have already made adjustments, because it has affected ALOT of peoples roleplay. Not just the Tritians or the sentinels or the CoCs of the game. This is the way that netdevil wants this game to go, and I wouldnt be suprised if this is the exact model that we will finally see in Jumpgate Evolution. I have played many other games that do the same thing. What I mean is this: other games put out expansions, and updates. Very rarely (and I say very rarely because in my experience, I have not seen it), do they(developers) go back on what they have implemented. So what I am saying is we can make this post 100 pages if we want, or we can learn how to play the game the way it is. Most of us have already. And we do understand that if you havent played the game in a while, alot of this is going to be a change. But I think we all can agree that we would like our returning vets to acclimate to the game the way it is, and stick around to play with the rest of us.
__________________ Cardinal Purge This pretty much sums up my opinion. I know things are not perfect, or "the way they were intended to be". When things change in Jumpgate there are several ways to react. Leave, whine/leave, rebel, adapt etc. I just want to play the game while I can, while it is here. I could have left a long time ago as things changed that annoyed me. I think it is fair to say that no updates are going to happen in Jumpgate Classic. Maybe those that have recently returned may have have to adapt also. I didn't want to, but I have adapted like many and still found both fun, and a new kind of fun. Nothing is ever going to be like old times. Play the game for now. Al |

Re: Play Jumpgate Classic
Even if complaining about the MT system will never change it in Jumpgate Classic (and I don't imagine it will either), at least it might help with Jumpgate Evolution, which we will hopefully have to live with for quite a while to come.
And if nothing else it seems the whining allowed Quants like me to PvP again. And that's a real big incentive towards continuing to play Jumpgate Classic with the rest of you. |

Re: Play Jumpgate Classic
This thread is a couple of months old. The top part was a quote from Purge that I seem to have messed up using the quote function.
The bottom part is my response which is an accurate, true, and honest reponse from myself. If you don't want to play, then don't. When I stop playing a game I don't tend to put others off playing it. Not sure if I was drunk or not when I posted this, my aim would still shit over the majority of my detractors eitherway so random abuse is always welcomed. Regards Al |

Re: Play Jumpgate Classic
Jumpgate Classic is still a blast when a decent number of MTs are playing . . . rather boring when there are nothing but civs chatting and hauling point a to point b. Jumpgate Classic is a PvP game -- there needs to be 50+ percent of the base PvPing to make it fun . . . for the PvPers, the hauler/manufacturers and the miners. Without the PvPers consuming gear there's little meaningful work for the others to do.
For fluxers, though, I can see how it could get terribly boring without infestations and sent attacks. Maybe one of these days Thoth can get freed up to do some things. |
