Sleepless nights
I don't know if it was too much coffee, or simply the fact that we started talking about it on TS tonight, but I can't sleep for all the ideas I have for ways that stuff could be added/changed to make Jumpgate even better. Whether it's changes to stuff already in the game, like my desire for them to increase beacon credit payouts at least to the point that it would cover a pvpers FF usage expenses and the hopes that they continue the trend of higher level meaning your choice of ship not better ships by bumping the shuttles to ~20 cargo, the FTs to ~50, the Transports to ~100 and reducing the tow to ~200 and Freighter to ~300, or whether it's ideas for stuff not implemented yet, like a vortex missle that upon detination creates a field with an effect similar to the one you get when flying into a docking computer beacon and my ideas for a POS mission module, they just buzz around my head constantly. I can't seem to shut my brain off. Oh, the things I would do to this game if I were in Istvan's shoes. |

It's not "lose" sleep - it's "I don't want to sleep if I have still have ideas" - some of my best writing and/or posts have been the result of "I really can't get to sleep until I finish this - it's bugging me".
In fact, the JG2 idea was the result of a very very late night "I can't sleep" session - stayed up till like 3 am one night scribbling the "Dissenters" storyline out. I have 4-5 other stories I've done like that, but never put up. I will, eventually, but that whole "time" thing keeps getting in the way ![]() But anyway - if I had to count the hours of sleep I've "lost" over games.... oh man, it'd be days. |

Yeah, it's not about losing sleep over a game, it's about something getting your brain spinning so fast and so many ideas buzzing around in your head that you have to get them out so you can rest. This has happened several times to me with Jumpgate, because in playing the game the potential is almost palpable. |

I had this great idea last night, at like 2 am, right before I fell asleep. I scribbled enough of it in a notebook I leavebeside my bedstand (for that purpose), and went to sleep - when I got up, I remembered what it was I was thinking of, and wrote it down.
That's how I banish sleepless nights ![]() |
