2) assuming you don't civ anyone, wearing pirate tags caused your PR to decay 1 per hour with all factions (IIRC and it hasn't changed).

3) Your home faction station. i.e. A sol can get pirate tags at KH, EE, LL, GBS, and can remove them only at Wake, SC, or Cornea (if you're stuck /homeoff and when you perish you can reform your evil ways)

I thought cargo was never insured. Is it now insured? When did that happen? Or am I confused?

Cargo has never been insured. Commodities have always been insured to an extent depending on insurance rating, and still are irrespective of tags.
Modx have never, and still are not insured irrespective of tags, unless they are arties and you are lvl 50.

Regards
Al

I always thought of cargo as whatever is in your hold...commod or equipment. Equipment in cargo has never been insured, commods always have been, unless you home out of an unreg station (not sure if that was always the case or changed).

I do not recall that HG vs. Civ tags has anything to do with commodity cargo insurance. The only other influencing factors are /homing from unreg (as GG pointed out) and I thought there was also an impact in claimed sectors (thought that may just be that equipped items are not insured there).

I seem to recall dying in claimed sectors meaning only a 50% insurance payout.

That's what it was supposed to be...that is both sides had to be contesting the sector. I can honestly say I've never heard of anyone who actually paid attention and confirmed it.

I remember dieing once in a sector contested by both OEC FL and Solicidal. I got a message saying 1.5 mil was deducted from my insurance.
