In a forum designed for OOC threads as well as IC ones, it seems a bit stupid to just close a thread.

I think Themis employees are stupid and abusing their power on the JOSSH forum, I say we oust them

That forum doesn't have OOC threads in Plots and Discussion, thats what forums like this one is for. They removed it because the old OOC discussion boards were disgusting, quite frankly. (According to them)

Nope I agree with action taken. Thread had no Plot nor was it even game related.

That thread deserved what it got. In general, if a replacement would be viable, removing Themis would cause at least a temporary resurgance of subscriptions.

The area is for IC and OOC discussions tho, so unless its offensive or breaks one of the ToC for the forum, I don't see why it should be closed.

Because it's for OOC discussions of plots and events, not chatting. The thread in question had no topic, and therefore was offtopic by default, which (iirc) breaks one of the ToC for the forum.
