I tell you what. No one buy any equipment and then we can all sit in station praising people for the all the shineys we get to look at on the market. When we want to launch and move some commodities, trade, mine, flux, arty hunt, or heaven forbid pvp(only to armour mind not using ff's to preserve the glorious equipment) then we can use the abundance of equipment on station to kit our ships. Then of course when we dock after doing whatever we did then we can sell all our equipment back to station and continue praising each other at the abundance of shineys on the market to look at.
Sounds super, suits you sir? Regards Al |

hmm, about 5 or 6 months ago during the beginning of that idiotic RP about the manufacturer's bid war soli made about a metric assload of tens gear. Mostly pints injustices and guzzies due to fear of production halt.
Now I'm TRIC, but I know I have between 60-100 guzzies in my POS. Maybe I should react and put my station on public and charge out the anus for them....nah I'll leave that to the poor defensless haulers that never deserve to be shot at. ROFL!!!!!! My post is pointless(like most of my posts) but RP could be adjusted for this. And i cannot believe that piracy of equipment isn't happening. someone is hauling this stuff and someone could lift it. Even better... tow lifts it from stripper, squaddie smokes the stripper's ass and the stripper is negatively impacted by loss of credits. In a perfect world this would put a halt to some of this crap. I know I'm dreaming. ps. GG I whole heartedly agree with your sig on the Jumpgate forums. That is the main reason I am playing other games. |

I can't supermax sorry....
The guys in the suits are already hiding in trees around my property and the black helicopters are circling my house at night. Just me being a pain in the ass actually. I'd really rather not go into name calling and all that stuff, just laugh it off and say " Wow this Tensy guy is really nutty". ![]() |

See Grim, my problem with you is that you don't listen. You stated in your post that you would have to goto a miriad(sp?) number of POS in order to get the equipment you want. Now lets talk about a POS called 'Fort Outhouse' in QC sector on EU owned by Rhoadie.
Once upon a time this mystical thing called Fort Outhouse was a public POS, it was stocked to the gunnals with all sorts of stuff to equip a ship with. It had also had these magical things called refuel and repair modules, the same mystical things I mentioned in a previous post that you still think i'm delusional about. Using the magic /home command you could re-spawn at this station, equip your ship and get free fuel and armour...WAIT A SEC!!! This can't be, it goes against what GG says, the equip was in one place AND you could get refuel and repair AND is was a POS of all things. Now I agree that things will eventually balance out. Squads like FC will make only what they need but do barely anything more to help the economy. The full time miners can make believe that Jumpgate is a single player game some more and can support the tiny player base that uses equiped TRI stations. In the mean time, large PvP squads such as OV will start to vanish and disapear as people, like BloodGuns, vanish to other games that actually have a clue and work. If, GG, this is what you want then fine, have it that way. You seem to agree the economy needs changing but refuse to consider that POS are viable and that they work. I personally shall not be activating a sub when this month is up, I may be just one person, but others will most likely leave if this isn't sorted, afterall this is a multi-player game that isn't accomodating very well for the multi-player aspect of it... How much does Rhoadie charge for guzzlers? If I put guzzlers on QC would Rhoadie come steal them and sell them from his POS? If I'd still have to go to a myriad of POS to not get ripped off on prices...
I've never said POS aren't viable or they don't work. I said that's less fun and not the game I want to play. Keeping TRI stations stocked is more teamwork than keeping YOUR pos stocked don't you think? PvPers see the people that stock QC and they say "Hey thanks, for keeping QC stocked" /give 500000. Then if OV decideds to come down and shoot some Quants, they can all launch from the same place regardless of what squad they are in, and defend QC as a faction. Other than that, since you've already said you aren't re-subbing, your opinion doesn't really matter anymore ![]() |

Custardx, apparently you are not listening either or else you don't care? Just exactly how do you expect your PvP equipment to get made if the "single-player-game" miners/producers/haulers DON'T do their non-combat thing? Go completely back to the Magic-server days? Is that what y'all did on the EU?
And what exactly is wrong with re-spawning at a TRI station that is stocked with equipment? I spawn at my private/squad POS most of the time now since the sudden dearth of equipment at TRI stations, but I've had to fly at less than 50% throttle with way-below-standard equipment to get back to my POS for equipment. Then had to change ships to go somewhere else to scrounge equipment (in some case WAY more expensive than default pricing) to re-stock my POS. My POS is NOT public and hasn't been in quite a while. Since I'm basically the last man standing in my squad (OAS), I can leave it squad only in case any of my mates come back, without worring about it being stripped if I'm not there. Are there ANY EU squads that mine/produce/haul now on the WWS? I'd really like to get to know them, particularily if they are Oct factionalist squads. And yes, we WILL reach equilibrium eventually, but I wonder just exactly how many pilots will be left on the server by then? I don't know you; I've never encountered you in-flight (probably my fault since I'm CDT and fly after midnight most nights) but I hope you stick around long enough for me to form an opinion of you besides what I get off the forums. |

"miners/producers/haulers, single player game". That the biggest laugh I have heard yet. The best multi-player action I have ever had was back when -=MACK=- was doing it's thing. I don't remember 15-20 tow convoys being single player. Or when I would go find Hurricane mining somewhere and bump him of his roid. Nothing single player there.
Some people just can't see past themselves. And that goes for those that have mining/producing/hauling/ colored glasses on as well as those with PVP colored ones. To be full of oneself is a universal problem that covers all gaming styles. |

Quick observation. We know for certain that a mining-based economy will not sustain EU-play style. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. It is not a case of minor tweaks, there are fundamental inbalances. EU player mentality is to POS-stock anything in shortage. That mentality existed before POS - POS merely made it easier. Much of this difference is rooted in farming, and the fact that early on, US pilots could station stock without running into financial problems; but I digress. If the entire economy is in shortage (which from what I can see, is where you are heading), everything useful goes into POS. Prices go through the roof. Unless significant new income streams are introduced, nobody can afford to die. Game slowly goes to s**t. Istvan knows this is how EU players reacted last year. US was much much slower to respond because most things were stocked by the thousand, while EU had a historic policy of near-zero stocks, so reacted almost immediately. But I believe this was always going to happen to US, and said as much at the time. My guess is the arrival of EU players has simply been the final nail in the coffin.
