timski probably knows more about Jumpgate's economy than everyone else combined; still I chose to believe that it will all balance out eventually, especially after the free month for the transferred players is over.
I assume that at most 50% all all transferred accounts that were active during that month will actually stay and subscribe. I know I will, but I'm addicted to that game anyway and probably wouldn't even leave if there were only low-level gear on the market... ![]() |

Im no expert by any stretch, except at dieing, of which i was EU master for single account wreckage but my limited insight into the econ and whats now happening post-merger suggests to me, as has already been mentioned a few times across the boards, that one fix could and probably should be an increase in ore yields from roids or even faster methods of mining.
Facts are as i see them: POS are here to stay whether ppl like it or not Most people hate mining when they HAVE to do it get kit to launch Lots of people have no clue or interest in how to go about making kit which puts greater pressure on those that do An increase in ore yields to say, twice what they are now (as an example), might encourage more people to work for what they want and in the worst case scenario, help those that already do work if more people dont actually do anything. |

Well, it shouldn't take long for them to at least let us know they are working on it, like seriously, a little communication never hurt anyone. Instead they leave us without a word and everyone argues about the economy all day.
I actually like the current economy for the most part. Sure ore purity and production cycles aren't where they should be, but it's a lot better than what it used to be like... maybe that's just because I still have a whole lot of equipment... *shrugs* |

So yes, a little communication CAN hurt. You also have to remember that we're talking about Themis: their ability to communicate is hindered by an incredible lack of tact, humility, compassion, and most other traits of humanity. |

No I don't expect to have to do no work to get equipment. I had an account on EU called Kawaii, had to make various bits of equipment for the squad POS, haul ass all over the place to get what I want. The only difference was it didn't take nearly as long as getting what you want here.
I had a thought, What IF: You take the commodities you need to a station for something, lets say flashfires to Aman. Instead of dumping it on the market and waiting for it to produce, very few a cycle I add, you open a new window at the bottom called 'Production', and dump everything you want to be turned into goods in the window, select what you want made and wait. You still have to wait a cylce or more, however not as many and everything you make gets dumped in your hold, for the market price. This way you get to keep everything you produce rather than have someone nick it and you don't have to wait so long. You also get to decide what your goods are made into, such as instigators and intimidators where they use the same commods iirc even if you don't want an intimidator to be made. Mix this in with higher mining yields and presto, could work...maybe. As I said, I don't expect to not have to work but I also don't expect to have to work so long at the same thing. If the miners mined and could make enough stuff to support the PvP community who in turn protect the miners from pirates and treat them nicely, THEN it will be multi-player. With almost everyone being required to sit in front of a roid for a long time, often alone, its not multi-player imo. 2 people mining in the same sector isn't multi-player, they aren't depending on each other. But if the PvP people can depend on the miners/producers and need to treat them well THEN it's multi-player, again imo. On the note of communication, as far as we all know Isty plans on making major changes to the warfare system, which is a huge job and as a 1 man team is taking all his time. Unless we are told otherwise, a fix for the economy looks unlikely... As for meeting me ingame, well thats the thing. Ingame you'll meet me IC, in here you see my OOC opinions about the game, and some of its player Bill. Lets keep them separate... Custardx |

Discussions get sidetracked, it's the nature of communication. Sometimes it's fun to go back in the conversation to see how you ended up talking about sex when you started talking about Smallville.

Yea, it would be better that there is no need to 'hoard' things. Part of me agrees that is would be nice to have things on TRI stations howerver the frame of mind is people see ff's they take them right now.
As you said production needs changing so that this frame of mind is reversed so that both TRI and POS can have equipment... Custardx |

It seems to me that we have two points of view here. I can let it go on and on in it's disagreements and negativity. As we frighten off any would be players. However, that's not the mission of this community. So I am closing it while things have calmed down.
Lets get some discussion going about what is good about Jumpgate. You all keep playing it so there must be something good. Is it that hard? You can't tell me you continuously play a game you hate with such passion. Maybe if you guys where not always screaming at those that control the game they might listen to you more. Anyway, this thread has run it's course and will now sink into the depths of faded glories. Jump |
