Unfortunately, untuned beacons are more the norm than the exception, for just about any time after US primetime. The few folks with any factional pride don't want to spend all day going around tuning and retuning beacons, at the expense of doing what they really want to do.

Which, by the way, tends to describe my time, when I'm logged in.

Personally, I would love to flip beacons. It's one of the more fun things for me. Unfortunately, it's not worth the time credit-earning wise, and I have mining to do

Have you seen any of this Fourth Tribe stuff that Hfran has been doing? It's all about Hyperians throwing off their TRI oppression and standing up for themselves, proudly proclaiming their heratige, and reclaiming that which is rightfully theirs. Or something like that. I also think there is pie involved somewhere.
