Well you know what?
JOSSH is officially dead.
It will come back on again with new hardware on monday. JOSSH kept going down because of hardware failures. |

I wonder if it will come back Monday or if this is just an excuse to finally pull the plug. I wanted to log on for a few hours tonight and that's not possible. From what Powo says, I won't be able to log on all weekend, if ever again. I can't even read the JOSSH forums.
This whole Aubrey/GM_Moll thing seriously depresses me as well. I'm not going to quit over it. Heck, even if I was Aubrey I wouldn't quit. There are ways around a ban and most players already know them. Not a big deal. Working for a Police Department I can tell anyone concerned that Aubrey's alleged threat would NOT be actionable in the state of Texas and probably not anywhere else in the free world. Not only could "GM_Moll" NOT file charges, she couldn't even get a restraining order! Still, this isn't a democracy. Hell, most of the time's it's barely even a compassionate dictatorship. "they" can do as they please and all we can do is pay or not pay. And so another veteran is gone and many more leaving as well. I'm just depressed over the whole deal. |

You can also just go into your Netdevil > Jumpgate directory and scroll down to the J's, there is two jumpgate icons in there. One is for Patchit and the other is Jumpgate.exe. As long as you have the current build of Jumpgate, you can just use Jumpgate.exe to connect right in.

Or not even dig down that far... the installer sets up a Start Menu entry for Jumpgate, and one of the shortcuts ("Jumpgate Offline") points directly at jumpgate.exe (which, as others have noted, bypasses the updater).
Of course, there is still the issue that the various economy trackers are pretty much wastes of disk space at the moment, since there's no inventory.txt for them to read. |
