Re: what do you see?
We are doing a lot of work to make sure the game still runs on as many machines as possible. Now it won't run on a Voodoo2, Pentium 90 like Jumpgate will but we think most people should be able to run the new version.

Re: what do you see?
This is Jumpgate we're talkin about here, not Warcraft. They probably dont have the money to make something that graphics intensive, and why alienate anyonewho cant upgrade their computer every 6 months anyway?

Re: what do you see?
Not being funny here but I can run Eve, and please remember this isn’t a debate on game mechanics or playability but lets face it Eve looks good and its getting a high res face lift this summer. on my 2nd Pc a Duron900 256 sdram with a Ati (Pci) 9250. it runs it and runs it to a playable level. ( Not sure if I will be able too after its face lift.
My main has far better spec so unless Jumpgate suddenly needs the processing and graphics needs of games like Doom3 and Oblivion etc I think all this *Oh no I need a new PC* is a bit scare mongering. But it’s the Quote:
That has got me going at long last it would seem Jumpgate is getting some much needed content. Change the way it looks is great and needed, but with out substance how long would people stick around looks good now but its still the same old same old. This is the news I was waiting to hear ![]() |

Re: what do you see?
I'm waiting to hear:
Dynamic content meaning not falling into the trap of static missions to go save the princess, and then mysteriously the princess is still available to be saved 5 minutes later. While JGs current mission systems aren't exactly RP jewels, at least when you move 500 manufactured foods from 1 station to another they stay there...you actually have an impact on the game for other players. Too many MMO play like single player games where everyone gets the same content. Game content should always be determined by what's going on in the game (i.e. when octs invade sol space, the mil combat missions should be for octs not quants ) |

Re: what do you see?
Looks like I'll have to pull out my old Force Feedback II, blow the dust off and get 'er ready.
Since I can play Oblivion, EVE, and many other games at full tilt graphics without a hiccup, I don't see myself as having too many issues with the upgrades to Jumpgate. Viper Lampshade Tazor |

Re: what do you see?
Just jumped in game a bit this week. Noticed some of the obvious changes that occurred during the last 3 years. Some good (equipment re-balance), some not so good (bounty system is still broke, maybe even more-so than before). Regardless, a graphics update and another 100 players online and we've got ourselves a game again.
