There wasn't a 'I'm really into character RP but Jumpgate has let me down in that respect for so long that at this point I'd settle for a little backstory' option, so I went with #2.

The problem as I see it is the wws has already become a "toy" server and tbh its killing me.

I mean, "Regans birthday treasure hunt" ffs? Whoopdy f-doo. quick call of the flux its regs birtday and shes giving shineys..

Where is the server RP? Where is the story?

Yes, there are the 00:00-3:30 am sentient attacks - nicely timed to be missed by the eu populace who work/study/sleep, and even then theres never anything descernable to follow on the official forums so that even if you miss the events you can follow its prgress?? We get a few psuedo posts by lupin trying to egg things along but its too player driven and just not interesting ....

I need a break I think. Ive waited so so so long for the flux patches, hoping that somethings going to arrive but time is just ticking away, im getting older and theres nothing to show for it. I mean look at this whine, I sound like a pvp-er... and thats another thing...

Mostly 2, verging onto 3 if I had put more time into character development. For me Jumpgate allows me to act the way I would like to live my life. Always doing what I believe is right regardless of the cost. Don't have to worry about losing my job and becoming homeless or seeing my family suffer for my actions or whatever, as in real life. In Jumpgate I can be as bad as my ability allows me or as good as my temperment encourages me. No artifical limits; no artificial abilities (other than those inherent in a RP'd game). Hell, to me Jumpgate is vastly superior to RL and I wish I could "live" there 24/7.

Defo 2 for me, my character has a story, but I'm not in the mood to keep with it for now, although everything I do sticks with my character, nothing OOC really.

The problem I have over here is nothing seems to be IC, I know this is why GMK is an events for that reason and not an RP one, but it annoys me.

When we had the equipment drops a while back, there was no IC reasoning behind it, no "TRI has released emergency stocks of equipment" or the like, it was just "the econ is broke, its a temp fix." I remember getting shot down when I suggested that it could have been done IC.

At the end of EU, Kenzo had to close down this fantastic RP much sooner than he had liked. I was involved in this, speaking both IC and OOC and it was a fantastic story, all IC.
Leading up to it, playing as Kawaii, I was involved in some RP that involved us asking questions to an IC dude to find information, what we asked and how we asked depended on if we got the information we needed. It was Kenzo's return to basics iirc and again, it was fantastic, all IC, all with meaning.

On WWS there is no meaning, no IC meaning behind it all, just all OOC, all irrelevant...

Somewhere between all 3 options. Sometimes I just want to kill things and it makes me long for WoW/300 pilots online again. I usually tire of that quickly though and a story driven RP keeps me going. I rarely, if ever, speak "in character." I prefer to think that I am myself in the gaming world but still act as I would if I were playing a game the whole time... odd, but fun.

The people more inclined to RP on this server seem to me anyways not to be pvp'ers.
The people that are more inclined to RP don't really "get" pvp RP.
The response I got from the server when I introduced OV's past Imperialistic style of RP was flames from both the carebear element(people that RP'ed) and the pvp element(people that didn't trend to RP).
My simple response was to ditch the RP and try and have fun anyway I could. There is no RP on this server if you pvp, just flames.
I find it amusing now that a certain person has started ripping off my past Imperialistic RP. The difference now is that noone gives a flying fook anymore.
Shame really.
