Re: What is your favorite Jumpgate Classic Ship?
pre nerf of tows and FFs were the good old days.
Although I wish I played for that one or two days when we had 20 second FFs. That would have been wild. You could probably have chain FFed over most of Gurge + RV in a Condor. |

Re: What is your favorite Jumpgate Classic Ship?
I still say the vulture.
Roles - Grades PvP - D+ (Fitted up for combat it is a quite mediocre PvP ship!) Hauling - C+ (Not enough cargo for big loads, but faster than tow, average acceleration with load) Mining - B (Have to use both gun slots to have a useful mining rate, but has tough hull and the 2nd best shield ever and an acceptable amount of cargo space) Arty Hunting - A (50k radar, burglar, cargo space, tougher than a tow, really, unless you are really trying to find a few arties at as high a rate of speed as possible you can't go wrong) Fluxxing - B (A good pair of guns and strong hull and shields means that you can take on some pretty tough flux and come out on top). Towing - B+ (When towing a swarm, the shield and hull and 7 ff slots and 3 DTs really come in handy, especially for swarms with fast enough flux to outrun a ranger.) Combine all this and we have the uberest ship there has ever been! |

I mean, of course there is a statistical disadvantage for the nix in 1v1 with a nado but with the right tactics the nado is fast-food for octs. The only advantage the surplus FF of the nado offers is often enough the ability to get out of range and flee. |

Re: What is your favorite Jumpgate Classic Ship?
Whateva.....I stand by my comment. The nado with its uber FF'ers of doom win the day.
I think my new fav is the Nova nix..... Sure it sucks in group PvP, but in a duel, no matter the ship, your screwed if you get within laser range ![]() |

Re: What is your favorite Jumpgate Classic Ship?
There are many keys, the first of which is identifying who is using what weapons, FF management, knowing the # of FF's your opponent has, creating separation between opponents to single one out and if outnumbered by more than 2 to 1 you've got to be able to DB effectively to get the odds more in your favor and quickly. The latter is easy enough to do, just gotta get yourself a low on shields, FF away and then turn into your chasers and nail them. Worked every time because if you don't FF after them then they can simply cruise away and try again later, and if you do follow 100% of the time you will FF directly at them and end up following in a straight line which makes the DB relatively easy.
Anyways at least that was the strategy I used and it worked quite frequently on many different groups of quants. In regards to the 'Nado, probably one of the easiest quant ships to kill, all you had to do was circle it and you had them beat since nobody flew that thing with lasers, they all used ammo or FeatherFire. Unless they have changed it's pitch and yaw a nix could circle without using FF's. Unfortunately 1v1 all Quantar ships were inferior to Solrain or Oct ships. |
