I doubt she really has a lot of time to dedicate to playing of late, let alone maintaining and researching all the RP background, like she did when she was studying (as opposed to full time work).

One of my favourite RPs during my time playing on the EU server was the Red-Dwarfers led 'Haul It' missions, where commodities were hauled from one side of the galaxy to the other, even places from places like GBS, to ensure the production of critical equipment and commodities, accompanied by HG escorts.

I realise that with the extreme focus on mining on the US sever such a thing wouldn't really be possible, but that sort of econ-based roleplay with a dash of something for everyone has always been my favourite.

Maybe earning my Keval's Thanks for those missions makes me biased, I dunno

I know people have said the RP on the US is mostly focused on PvP and the flux, but is there any econ based RP atm? Mass mining missions, haulers taking the raw ore away, anything?

I don't believe so. Romulus has a "mining contest" and Dahalb leads a Dragoneye-based "econ team" but those things are not really RP-based. But I'm sure if you had an idea on how to do this, there would be interest.

I'd say Romulus thing is RP based. He RPs a hauler, I RP a miner..really we're just guys playing a video game. His motivation might not be factional or anything....but still. I agree the 'econ team' thing seems OOC though.

I was not trying to "dis" either effort. When I think RP, I think "story" rather than simply profession. The classic hauling story/RPs have been FMs -- like hauling the meds for the virus cure.

Rom's effort, though, may really be the model since in today's econ miners and haulers are inextricably linked.

Of course you could always do a "scavenger" hauler RP where you regularly move ALL commods from unreg to targeted stations . . . dunno. There are more "bad guy" hauler RPs that come to mind than "good guy" ones (e.g. monopolizing the market on certain rare/key items).
