So can a sense of humour(with a "U") or appreciation for the act of sarcasm or humour.(with a "U")
If someone posts crap, I'll call it crap. The way in which I post clearly shows how much respect I have for my target. You talk sh1t and try to make high and mighty fundamentally flawed and stuipd comments, your comments will be reflected in my response. Tim, nice but dim. Doh....just....got...baited... .again. Regards Al |

It has NOTHING at all to do with game mechanics and everything to do with human nature. To blindly ignore the lessons of pretty much every multiplayer online game is being naive and is keeping your head in the sand.
You can program in game mechanics to the nth degree, but if those game mechanics ignore what people want and will do, players will find a way to abuse them and ignore them and use them to "get at" others You can throw insultive answers out but you cannot throw out the inevitability of the following statements as they apply to online games: 10 percent of the players of a given game create 90 percent of the trouble Ground rules and accepted game play mean nothing. While the vast majority of players believe in "fair play" there are always folks that play for one reason: To anger, or othewise upset everyone else. You either provide game mechanics that allow other players to take these folks out of their "game equation" or players will quit, thereby taking THEMSELVES out of their "game equation" One way or the other, they are gonna avoid grief, it's your choice. To some people, any object is fair game at any time. Players are not people, they are simply targets. Whether or not that target reacts emotionally really is not part of the equation. "Hey, learn to shoot, get protection or find another game" Finally, I think it is YOU who misunderstands. Jumpgate has a worldwide player base so small, you could stack the entire lot into a good sized guild on WOW. Maybe it is time to see WHY that is. In my opinion, Jumpgate is the BEST flight game bar none. But other than fly around and pop a few flux, gameplay to me sux. For me, Jumpgate has always been a flight game with great potential that absolutely refuses to see the reality of the world in a few ways. Quote:

Forgot to note:
I am talking about reg space only. I support the idea that unreg is open season on anyone. I also liked the idea someone posted about the shooter eating the insurance costs of their target if they civ ripped. But I still like the idea of seperating out those that PVP from those that do not except in unreg. Then, give pilots a reason to be HG by providing monetary and other incentives |
