When do you think GMs should intervene?

Problem is, there is a lack of protection, especially when all the PvPers in space aren't shooting at them for whatever reason. 4-5 pilots can't do anything if 20 pilots are frequently near them. But they aren't...for whatever that reason is.

That's why my sig on the jossh forums says what it does about changing the non-pvp ships. As it stands, only a freighter stands any kind of chance of surviving until help arrives.

IMO, the only reasons to issue a ban against a player (or a group of players) should be

a) cheating

and

b) harrassment

The latter includes both what is commonly referred to as "griefing", i.e. repeatedly attacking a single player or a group of players with the intent of reducing the other's enjoyment of the game, as well as verbal harrassment such as repeated insults, derogatory sexual references etc.

Everything else ought to be dealt with by the game mechanics, or, failing that, by the player base.

Not really my place to say right now.
I'm sure there will be nuclear fallout though and all will become clear.
Seems my original theory about US server was correct. If you do not lick the right asses you will be eteranlly doomed.

This doesn't make any sense. I can still play, and I think I saw DireCoyote on yesterday, and those are the only two people I can think of that are obnoxious. Mebbe RedDwarf, but he mainly just has a problem watching his language....

I believe someone was being abusive on F5, being stupid enough to do it while a GM was on. Its always been a GM catches you, you get temp banned. Sorry your stupid enough/ignorant enough to assume if your a prick, you get away with it. Licking asses has nothing to with it. Being respectful does.

Did it happen the same night that Targus openly admitted CHEATING by combat discoing? Ah yes it did didn't it?
Weird that GMK missed that comment and banned someone for several years for showing their disgust(w/o swearing) at being cheated.
Some of my buddies are actually thinking there is a fascist anti-german thing going on here. That's how ridiculous the situation is.
It's a sad day when those that complain about others who admit to CHEATING get banned themselves because they use words like "asshat" to illustrate their point. I already know, thanks to said GM I got my 1st ban ever in over 6 years for defending myself again w/o swearing.(well I said asshat and bum buddies)

I'm referring to ingame btw, not to forums.

Without getting into the specifics of the night in question (since I wasn't there), I would worry about myself if I flamed and "swore" on F5 everytime Gawal or whichver OV flys xtremed combat discoed.

And yes, I'm sure asshat can be seen as swearing enough.

Thanks for reminding me SS. xtremed is xtremed and has only flown about 3 times with OV as pilot Samo.(joined about 3 weeks ago in Samoa, contrary to propaganda)
I just kicked him from the squad.
I don't like cheats.......
