Working with the econ we have....
For the benefit of Jump
This is the 6 stage plan I've posted for the factional work that it will be working on the 3 factions (if everything goes right). The 6 Stage Plan The whole idea would work like this: 1. We move most of the commods to the factional depot. Depots are storage places and dont consume things (other than probably water) and as they dont do things... they are perfect for storage. 2. After some research, we'll select which stations will make what, so that production of hard to get 2nd tiers and equipment can be done easily. That way, anyone can come and make what they need and do with it as they please. For factional work, it would be suggested to use those 2nd tiers to make the equipment that is in more necesity for that faction. Still, Id recommend moving these (2nd tiers) to Depot so that they can be safely guarded by the PvP squads. 3. Once we know where we want the commods at, we handfeed the main factional stations to start producing those items that are in most use and in need. Then, we will balance production moving some of these produced items to the other 2 stations, so that there is always stock to use. 4. Factional PvP squads would then assume control of the resources located in Depot, and would be responsible for monitoring their inventories (scan patrols to every cargo ship and enforcing the return of goods if the pilot in question has not been authorized). Above all, 2nd tiers are the ones we would want the focus on, and perhaps some other hard to get mined commods. 5. Ideally... some of you, haulers mostly, would join the crusade and take over the work from there, allowing the miners to focus again on mining (doh). Factional haulers would be able to work trade treaties with other factions and exchange 2nd tiers or equipment that are in dire need to make other stuff. 6. With a defined set of needs, miners could focus on making commods and making a profit out of it. Factional Haulers or those in charge of keeping production going, could ask for miners to focus on certain types of ore so that production can keep going. Thoughts? ELP |

Sounds like there is a need for a miners union and co-op. Then the co-op could keep private stations near production stations to hold commods. But short of that, depot stations should work. Provided they can be protected.

They will be protected. Is obviously a need that factional PvPers need to provide. The plan is already underway and production restarted of some selected items in Oct space. We need some sol econ leaders to start their area, but if they do not appear (for whatever reason) I'll work that area after the plan is implemented in oct space.

Elp, great plan. I see only two obvious weak points and you've covered the first..theft by other factions. Good hook for the PvPers. Good opportunity for pirates as well, which could be even better. I even see a good RP in PvP escorted hauler raids for commodities/products/equipment.
The one you didn't mention, and the one that worries me the most, is GM effect i.e. product decay. I know it works against stockpiles of equipment (or it did) but I don't know about commodities. If commodities don't decay there's no problem. Darn it Elp, this is a GREAT idea! I'm in to mine or haul or anything else I can do that will support the Empire. |

Follow the link above... (my last post before this one) for the addy to the forums. All factions have their separate areas and only me can peek on any of them. Of course, when someone (other than GrimGriz lol) tells me to stop peeking and answering questions.. I'll stop
![]() WildBill: We have a HUGE need of Copper (and commons in general). I'll PM u so that u know where to base from ![]() BTW, thanks for your comments, is deeply appreciated. ELP |
