This is going to make for a very healthy mod community for Jumpgate Evolution. Tons of flash junkies out there that would be drawn into playing Jumpgate Evolution just to be able to make their very own cockpit visuals. Another upside is it'll allow for the use of animated HUDs vice bitmap dressing.

scorch, i'd be interested in learning how you plan on implementing these HUD's. will the user need to use Flex? will they be read in like components (SWC's) or do they need to follow some sort of template FLA and compiled to an SWF? what level of AS support are you going to allow as well as what version Flash should these HUD's be built to? i'm hoping the answers are: Flex or Flash, SWF or SWC would be compatible, full support for AS3 and Flash player 9.

I think the link was unstable and related to a monthly update.

Luckily, I saved it on my desktop and just found it during my cleaning session.
