There is a deadzone that I can't get rid of completely, but it it nowhere near 20%. It's less than 10%, based on a comparison to my old MS Precision Pro. If I had to peg a number, I'd say it's around 5%.
As for button placement and stuff, you need to figure that one out. I'm on my third reconfiguration, and I'm not convinced that it won't change again. But a couple things to keep in mind: 1) The clutch button can't be mapped to a Jumpgate function, which is a shame considering its prime location for either AB or FF. 2) The scroll wheel under your left index finger can be mapped as a button (when you depress it). I use it as FF currently, with the left thumb button as AB. Unfortunately, I've had to map my brakes to my right pinky trigger, which means that not all throttle related functions are on the throttle control. If only the clutch button could be mapped... My buttons are as follows: Main Throttle: Trigger: fire weapon Missile button (under plastic flap): fire missile Button to the right of missile button: Don't remember, but I think it's radar range Button directly below radar range: return to main ****pit view Bottom hat: change views. I have this set to change the view until I hit the "return to center" button so that I don't have to hold the hat switch while docking, etc. Upper left hat: (left=previous target) (right=next target) (up=target under reticle) (down=target last aggressor) Flat button between the two hat buttons: jump Pinky trigger: braking thrusters Toggle button 1-3: not used. If you think of something useful for them, let me know. I was thinking maybe setting them for the various radar filters, but I don't think you can program a button for a particular filter. I think you can only cycle through them. Throttle Control: Button on lower rotary: Not used (this is the "clutch" button, and can't be mapped) Button between two rotaries: afterburner Slider located to the left: not used Button on top rotary: not used (it proved to be too difficult to activate during combat) Scroll wheel button under left index finger: flashfire Let me know what you come up with. Maybe if we start tossing some ideas around, we can come up with something slick. I'm not particularly happy with my arrangement at this point. |

If u mean by Toggle the 1-2-3 position switch that the X45 had 2 (the Mode and Aux1 switches) I can tell you how is best used
![]() I have my Aux 1 switch set to none-AB-none. This way when I want AB I just move it to the position and dont have to keep the button pressed. Ever since beta I've been a fan of long time use of AB.. therefore holding the AB key before was a pain. The position at which the Aux 1 was.. made it very easy to activate and deactivate. I could give you my actual x45 setup and u can use it as a base for what you have and modify from there as you wish. Stick: Upper Hat does: ECM ON/OFF, cycle missiles, cycle guns, togle gun fire mode. Lower Hat does: view left, right, up and back. A: invokes the map B: Previous target Missile Fire: doh Trigger: doh Pinky: Next Target Small button on the front: ZOOM. Throttle: Index Hat: Brakes, Target near, target under reticle, Target last aggresor. Big yellow D: Jump Aux 1 switch: AB OFF/ON/OFF Mode switch: nothing Mouse Hat: Radar mode and range. Mouse button (little black button): FF I've found this setup easy to use, grouping whole function on same hat makes easy remember what each one does. Having the brakes on the Index Hat (down) makes it easy to stop the ship ![]() Hope it helps... ELP |

Here's what I've managed to set up for myself:
On the stick: Trigger&Missile: duh Pinky: Haven't found a use yet (I wanted to set up Pinky+Trigger to jump, but the pinky shift doesn't seem to work right) Fire A: fire mode Fire B: target nearest Bottom Hat: ****pit views (returns to normal view when let go) Fire C: Zoom Top Left Hat: (Up: external view, Left: free look, Right: cycle missile, Down: cycle gun) Toggle 1/2: Jump (So I can just kinda slap it and cause it to jump). This is temporary until I figure out the pinky shift Toggle 4: Map Toggle 5/6: Scroll up/down in chat (nice because you can hold them down to scroll quickly, can't do that on the keyboard without extra work) On the throttle: Fire D: Afterburn Mouse Button: FF Fire E: Brake Mouse Wheel Up/Down: Target Previous/Next Mouse Click: Target Nearest Rear Hat: (Up: Radar Group, Right: Radar Range, Down: Target in Reticle, Left: Target Last Aggro) Precision Slide: Bands, 0-90% does nothing, 91-100% fires AB. Here's my logic for a few things that may seem otherwise random:

Thanks guys, I'm having an un-fun time with a) flying after 4 months of being away, and b) adjusting to the new X45 I got. Hopefully, I should be able to find something here that will make b a little easier on my poor head ![]() |

Hello all,
i have an x52 now too and after 2 days of programming welll....it work's fine Here is my config: Joystick in all Mode's: Trigger: Fire guns Trigger2: mapped to Trigger Fire: fire missiles Fire A: Map Fire B: Jump Fire C: nearest target Pinkie Switch: target under reticle Pov (up, down, l,r) View Up, down, l,r Hat 1 up: next target Hat 1 down: previous target Hat 1 left: Radar toggle range Hat 1 right: Radar toggle selection Thruststick in all mode's: Fire E: FlashFire Scroll Wheel 1(Clutch Button Wheel): Ab (mapped Num8) and Breaks (mapped Num2) Scroll Wheel 2(Fire E Wheel): Zoom (mapped Num7) Scroll Wheel 3(behind Thrust): chat up and down Thruststick Mode1: Fire D:Toggle guns (mapped to Num9) Hat left: Select weapon (mapped to Num3) Hat right: Zoom (maped to Num7) Button of Scroll Wheel 3: Ab (mapped to Num8) Mouse Button: Breaks (mapped to Num2) Thruststick Mode2-3: Fire D:Rotpro Console (insert key) Hat Up: Key up (for use in RotPro) Hat down: Key down (for use in RotPro) Hat left:Key left (for use in RotPro) Hat right: Key right (for use in RotPro) Button of Scroll Wheel 3: Numpad - (RotPro next Waypoint) Slider: mapped to Num* (RotPro toggle Scan) Mouse Button: Enter key Jumpgate doesen't recognise shifted keys as Controls, so there is no possibilty to map the Pinkie Switch for the use of i. example "W" or "?" key, but the ability to switch Mode's in flight correct's this for me. As u can see i have mapped the ab, breaks and zomm 2 times in mode1. Once on button and once on wheel for holding position. A little tip: map the functions needed in all modes directly in Jumpgate and the other ones (changing functions that are mapped to keys) in the SST-Programming software then you can change profiles with alt-tab in flight without restarting Jumpgate. |
