ambro, while the skills necassary to play a "Point & click" game are very different than JumpGate, there is a lot of skill required to play most of these type games. (WoW and CoH I really don't know). If I wasn't a heck of a lot more into science fiction type games, rather than fantasy... I'd still be playing FFXI. believe me, it takes a lot of skill to be 'successful' in FFXI. As a white mage, one wrong move, lose track of one detail, the whole 'party' is gonna get wiped out. Very similar to Jumpgate, in that if you, as your squad leader, lose track of something, or make a mistake in a fight, you could lose your entire wing in a fight. So... you and everyone else can back off on being so derogatory just cuz it isn't your thing. (It's not particularly my thing, since it doesn't get me out in space, but, I had fun when I played.)

This is a Jumpgate forum on a site called JOYSTICK REQUIRED.
If people would make their anti-Jumpgate and pro-point-and-click-kiddie-game posts somewhere else, then Ambro + Co. probably wouldn't have much to say. But that's just my opinion. |

Ist: All that takes is thinking, not reflexes. Sure it is part skill, but the person who plans better wins, even if he is slow as all ****.

WoW is reflex dependent as well. It's not turn-based combat.
I've lost interest in WoW for the most part, but used to help run a gnome-based guild named Ramming Speed. If you want a look at both the strategic and tactical side of that game's PvP, take a look at the Alterac Valley vid on my defunct guild's web page, www.slashflee.org. My tactics weren't too good, but I ended up in the higher end of Kills (but ranked 1st or 2nd for deaths ... one of those battles lasted 7.5 hours). |
