Pointless attempt to make a freeware game.
I may sound like a foolish or even a noobish person for posting this but, it goes something like this: It's a flight combat game(without using aerodynamics) set in a so called "computer cyber space"(if you heard of TRON and Reboot, thats exactly what I'm talking about) using arcade phsyics. Players fly these crafts that a called "gunships"(which this idea is loosly a spinoff from an underappreciated game called scrapland) and engage in combat with them. Next, there will be multiplayer but not massivly but where players host their own servers and have up to 16 players per match.
The chances of seeing this game coming true is very slim. Anyways, the art for this dream game: http://edice.arvixe.com/images/exatoi/ Since I am very native to BASIC programming language, I'll have to save up my money buy DBPro. Good night. |

You need a title to make it feel more personalized. At least you need a cool unrelated codename for development. Like Project Fireant.
Starting a game by building models is a bad idea. Makes for lousy programming. Better to make the art to fit the program rather than the other way around. |

Well.. I'm not the type of guy to do 2D art since I suck real bad at it.
With this freeware modeling program I have, I can virtually whoop anything up starting out from a cube. I'm still new to this whole game developing thing. |

Good job on the link fluid! And I was mostly referring to the effect that trying to think of a title can have on writers. Sometimes if you just cannot think of a title, it's better to write (or in this case program) some and hope that you get inspired to a title. If you spend all your time waiting for a title, you may in fact never do anything (which is a possiblity here anyways, hehe), but for now... how bout this? POWo: The Big Hit Flight Arcade

I've already got a title for it.
Anyways, I am not going to use C++ for this project. I'm still trying to learn how to use this other programming language so it's gonna be a long time from now. It really depends what type of motivation I am in. I do a lot of many other things on my computer like add some custom models to a premade game called Vegastrike, play Jumpgate, make ASCII type(Text Mode games they call it), play games, to some RL stuff besides programming. |

I wish I had more free time play with game programming. Gots the skills and no time to use them. All my time is spent at work doing stuff I'm paid to do. What I should do is finish the automation program I'm making so we can train monkeys to do our job instead and then convince my boss to fund a game development side project. That'd be so sweet. We're a printing company and we have two guys who rent office space and the facilities for their own company, printing among other things lottery tickets and whatnot. Maybe I could convince my boss to let me do it free as long as I continue to stay and support the applications I write for them. It's a small company so when I say "boss" I mean "owner"

Someone emailed me and said that I would rahter use Irrlicht engine over DBPro.
Over at devmaster.net, I have been reading reviews about how easy people can create games with it. I saw one review saying how easy it is to create an fps with just 20 lines of code. They mentoin "Visual Studio 6.0" in their readme.txt but I'm not exactly sure if it will work it that since I do have it. If I do get used to the program, I'm going to make some small sample demos and not the major game at first. |
