It sure is nice to see all the increased activity around here lately. That just goes to show you what happens when people get excited about something even though they're not quite sure what there is to get excited about. That's one thing Jumpgate invokes that most games don't, passion. I guess that's why it's still around and why so many people still check up on it in hope. The passion that drives them away also brings them back.
To tell you the truth I was close to selling this site. With all the inactivity, lack of help, funding and my many personal problems, it was coming close to decision time. Older domains with good page rank and quality keywords can fetch a hansom sum of cash at places like Namepros. But now, I'm glad I procrastinated on that. I think things will pick up in the coming months. And with the new volunteers we have it will be much easier on me. Thanks to them that's for sure.
I would like to reiterate that despite what some might think when the passion is flowing, we're pretty easy going here at Joystick Required. Just don't hijack threads too much, don't be rude, and respect each others unique viewpoints and all will be good. There's plenty of opportunity to shoot each other in the games we play. But as for here, let's keep the passions expressed in a positive manor. Strangers come here by the loads and you want them to see the positive aspects of the games you play.
Anyway, we all know that something big is brewing for tomorrow and this weekend might be full of exciting new discussions here and at other sites. Enjoy it and temper those passions.
I have that Ramones song running through my head.
"twenty twenty twenty four hours to go, I want to be sedated...."
