... I caved and got me an iPhone. I feel dirty but I love it. I still hate apple though.
I have so little time these days and this thing can do anything. I can even take care of my Netflix with it. I was debating whether to get a LG Dare with Verizon or this. You just can't beet the screen of the iPhone and the Dare only has proprietary apps. Still, I would have rather had an iPhone on the Verizon Network. Anyone else on the bandwagon? |

Re: Despite my distaste for jumping on the lasted trendy thing...
lol.. I dont care much about these new "phones" to get one.. But I hear that LG or HTC are much better in some areas.. Like you cant install any app you want on your iPhone cause apple doesnt like it.. they decide, you nod.

Re: Despite my distaste for jumping on the lasted trendy thing...
I have an Ipaq I just tether it to my phone via bluetooth. It runs Windows Mobile 6, so I can run a good deal of the stuff out there. Since it's not an all-in-one it doesn't have some of the cool stuff like visual voicemail, but I don't really get that much voicemail.
My biggest thing when considering it was that I wanted to be able to have a phone that was just a phone, I could hold it to my head without feeling like I was holding a notebook there. Additionally I need a tactile button response for situations where I can't look at my phone to dial, that you just can't get with a touchscreen. I like the Iphone, and I think it was a great idea by apple....but I think they're way too draconian in the way they allow licenses and lock the phone down. I sort of understand why they lock to one provider, but they don't allow more then one app on their service that does the same thing? I just read some articles about them bumping apps off....and now they've put a NDA on all developers stating they can't share the rejection letters they get to try and cover it up. Kinda not "tech" friendly of a company that seems to like to say that they MAKE tech friendly.... I WOULD most likely buy one, if it was made by anyone but apple. :-P |

Are you thinking about getting a Bluetooth Keyboard? My friend has one for his N800 and I really like the idea. When I'm home and in the living room, I use my full size BT keyboard, but I'd like something smaller for travel. My friend has: And it's a really nice keyboard for the money. If we go to the bar to check out a football game we can't get locally, he has a much easier time browsing around stats and such. Obviously he can send e-mails and chats easier too, but on the down side it's not rechargeable and it is hard on the wrists for more then a little bit of typing. The other two I'm looking at are: This one by logitech is winning the race for me, but the price tag is a bit high. I like the hand held thumb keyboard, easier on the wrists IMO. I really would like this, but I'm sure it's impractical.... I-Tech's Virtual Keyboard - A laser projected full-sized virtual QWERTY keyboard It would just be awesome to whip that out at the bar. The ladies would be all over me like gravy on mashed potatoes. |
